Pavlik will crush Chavez

Palvick has the ability to put a hurting on JCCJR but does he still have the fortitude? JCCJR does have a fighters heart and he could make it a war of attrition. I'd still lean towards Kelly stopping the young man, even a decpreciated version of him.

 

I agree, I have no "dog" in this fight, but to discount JCC JR is a mistake in my opinion. Dude's chin is solid, he is strong, and he doesn't try to be anything he's not. He's getting inside and he's going to work his ass off when he gets there, I guess if you can stop him you can beat him, but that's easier said than done. I think Pavlik has some tools and can still be effective but to say he destroys a guy like Chavez is a bit much in my opinion.

 

Pavlik can only crush cans, both the literal and boxing type.

 

jcc is no stranger to the bottle either...

 

Good post, but I don't think Junior was ever over rated. He's always had a **** load of haters.

Whether people like it, or don't like it, JR is A LOT bigger than Kelly, and that is something KP has NEVER dealt with. Pav's last two outings came against guys from 175, but even then Kelly did not give up much in the way of size. He's strong as a freaking ox, but we really do not know how well KP can deal with a naturally bigger man who may be his equal in the strength department.

Again, whether people want to admit it or not, Chavez JR can box a bit. He actually has decent fundamentals.

Over the last couple years Junior has been far more active than Pavlik, and everyone Chavez fought was probably better than Jaco.

Kelly Pavlik would be JR's biggest win, and this fight would no doubt make HBO. The kid may just come to the ring ready to die rather than lose.

I can see a number of possible scenarios if this one comes off. Chavez may just gut out a win. Or, KP might come out and treat Junior like Gary Lockett. I'd expect an old style 6-8 round Pavlikation, but I would not put money on it. There are still to many unanswered questions about Pav right now.

[ Sidebar: I've watched Pavlik/Lopez at least 3 times. Anyone who thinks that fight was close needs to either learn to score fights, or find another sport to follow. ]
