So you really think the guy who fought Hopkins last weekend would have a prayer vs Pavlik? I don't. And I think anyone with good vision and any boxing knowledge would agree.

I'm a huge Pavlik fan but Joe would be too smart and active and would beat Pavlik on points.

If "smart" wins, then Bhop wins. ;) Pavlik can handle 'active' too. He has a pace to match Calzaghe and lands harder.

It would be a "reverse Lacy". Pavlik would school and KO Joe. Joe is too old and was never that good.

Pavlik would be all over him with no break.

You guys have completely lost your minds. Joe too fast for Kelly? Kelly cant hit Joe?.
A freaking plodding Bernard made Joe look sloppy out there. Kelly is alot faster than HOP TODAY! Present time. Joes defense is pretty much non existent. He beat HOP because he was busier not because he was elusive and was impossible to hit.

I dare Joe shoeshine and try to get in his face with Kellys power. Kellys jab IMHO is also very underrated

Two things work here..Pavlik will hit him at some point and Kelly will smile though Joes slaps. Advantage Pavlik...Not saying that Joe cant win a decision hes faster and might score more points..This is just the way I see this

uh wrong i got joe by sd but i think kp puts him down a couple of times maybe once.

joe is quite old at 36 and is on the decline.

    but who knows

If Pavlik controls Calzaghe and keeps him on the end of his jab the fight won't go 5 rounds.

The only way for Joe to handle this is to do what he normally does which is lunge in, throw some slaps and tie up. But he has to be careful because he comes in wide and has a habit of getting hit with flush right hands. Walking into a Pavlik right hand would spell disaster.

great post man im a big JC fan and i feel that in his current states he might get a Sd but he'll taste canvass at least once if not twice in a fight. KP is very underated and made me a fan when he destroyed miranda. he has very solid fundamental and excelent power in both hands that wear you down. both i think have solid chins.

would be a good fight but it won't happen at least i don't think. joe know KP is the goods and unless he see something that will garuntee him a win he won't do it. he'll fight RJJ and the more then likely call it quits

i would have to take calzaghe on pts. pavilk is similar to kessler in the sense they are both stand-up jab, straight right hand fighters. In Miranda and Taylor I, they stood right in front of pavlik and traded. Taylor made an adjustment in the rematch by moving more and staying off the ropes and pavlik had some problems. calzaghe has that unorthodox style which can throw off the timing.

Taylor wore down in the rematch when it was close, calzaghe will not.

Mm not really. Historically swarmers have trouble with guys who have crushing one punch power. Pavlik doesn't need to be faster he just has to be smart and come in with a solid gameplan. He just has to really study Calzaghe and see where he is at all times. It would help of course if the swarmer punched as hard as the puncher. But in this case I think Pavlik easily punches harder.

Calzaghe is not a boxer in the pure sense. He likes coming forward using speed to get off first and then tie up. He doesn't do well going backwards and most swarmers don't. So all night he is going to be going towards Pavlik and towards that power. He could manage to be inside all night or way out all night. But that's no guarantee he's going to win. What is a guarantee though is if he stands at the end of Pavlik's power he's gonna get starched.

Plus Pavlik is much younger and has been weight draining already. I wouldn't be surprised if this fight was even money.

I think taylor would give Calzaghe more trouble than Pavlik

I hate the way people make Pavlik out to be a stiff. Joe on the otherhand whether you like him or hate him has paid his dues...he can pick who he fights and Roy farnkly is a big reward little risk fight. Its a no lose situation for Joe. hey Im not Elite for posting ****

Kessler waited on Calzaghe all night. That was his problem. He got into that mode like the Andrade fight where he was waiting on Joe to finish. But everytime Joe finished he tied Kessler up. That's all it was.

Pavlik will not wait on Joe. He isn't a counterpuncher like Kessler. He will punch with Joe and that makes Joe's advance that much more difficult.
