Pavlik will KO Calzaghe

KP is alot like cotto justr with more one punch power but kp usally breaks the guy down faster

at least from what i've seen

 

i still think calzaghe's awkard foot movement will throw his timing off. he seemed out of sorts at times against taylor in the rematch. pavlik is a killer if u stand if front of him but big punchers always seem to have trouble against boxer-movers

yeah too many people underrate KP he's not MW champ an undefeated for nothing the man is the goods

 

This fight could very well be fight of the year, neither man will back up, and both mens workrates are very high. This is a fight where both men may hit the canvas, if Hopkins can put Calzaghe down with one punch, Pavlik can probably keep Calzaghe down with one punch. Neither mans defense is anything special either, this fight will nothing less than exciting for boxing fans.

 

For some reason I can't get my quote message in reply to work, but to Ambition def, Calzaghe is not just a swarmer, he is a terrible smart fighter, who can adjust. He did not swarm Kessler, he jabbed his face off. He will do the same to Pavlik. Pavlik's jab is great, but Calzaghe is faster and extremely underrated.

 

Yea. But sometimes persistence and sheer strength can overwhelm gameplans.

Pavlik has the right kind of idea. Even as Miranda was throwing he was throwing with him. Not many guys tried that before and it paid off big for Pavlik. Calzaghe will find out quickly that Pavlik is not Kessler. He won't wait for you to stop punching as he's going to punch right along with you.

Note I'm not saying Calazghe can't win this. But the likely way he wins is by making it ugly like he did against Kessler. The only significant difference there is what I've stated. Pavlik won't wait like Kessler did. And Pavlik has that sort of approach once the punches start flying that he can land one of those bombs. Look at the Miranda fight and who ended up the benefactor of those wild exchanges. Pavlik is a straight puncher and Calzaghe is a slapper, a looping puncher. No doubt in my mind that Calzaghe gets tagged hard if he decides to try and exchange with Pavlik.

 

WOW!!! That fight on Saturday seems to have brought out the "believers". Not to many people publicly picking Pavlik before that fight. Boo, Piped, Jetski and a few others would approve. :good

I've said it before. Watch Taylor's last fight back to back with Cal/Kessler. Taylor is faster.

 

I'm still no 100% on Pavlik. I like him and he did win all those big fights but there's something about his style that's crude and sloppy. He's also pretty slow. I think he should stay away from Joe for now.

 

Yea he didn't swarm Kessler because he couldn't get away with it. He ended up switching to a lunge and grab style similar to what Hopkins uses. Kessler was too sharp a counterpuncher and nailed Calzaghe early. Calzaghe then adjusted by not giving Kessler the chance to counter.

This may work against Pavlik but Pavlik won't wait on Joe. He'll punch with him. Which will make this signifcantly more interesting and more dangerous.
