Holds more weight with who? Obviously the fight doesn't happen unless Goosen wants it to and it's hard to see any reason why he would agree for it to happen on that date.

Box Rec put that 11/21 date up the day the postponement was announced. As of right now Boxing Scene says multiple sources claim HBO wants Pavlik/Williams on 12/5, so they'll push Mosely back to 12/26.

Even I think this is pretty damned low on HBO's part.

You still have an event scheduled for August?

Well, if HBO put their foot down then Goosen doesn't have much choice. They could easily threaten to pull the plug on the Williams/Dzinziruk backup plan, which would leave PW with nowhere else to go. In any case, it sounds like Team Williams and Goosen both really want the fight to happen ASAP, despite the whining and badmouthing they've been doing.

For that reason, there's presumably a lot of competition on TV networks, people being on holiday, busy etc. The fight wouldn't get that much attention from casual fans who probably have only a vague clue who Mosley is.

December is normally a rough time for boxing events. Money usually goes more towards gifts and December always seems to struggle. For instance, just a guess but I think Pac/Oscar would've had 300K more if it was in Jan or Early November.

Most people spend the day after Christmas returning/setting up/operating new gadgets n gismos and a whole lot less watching tv.

Set this fight for Christmas Eve, I need a good reason to skip dinner with the in-laws.

He can just step away. He has a lot more invested in Andre Ward than he does with Paul Williams.

I doubt HBO will force Goosen to choose but then again they've done some dirty business moves before.

Steve Kim says the fight could once again be a go for this date. He says Pavlik's medical records are supposed to be sent to Dan Goosen and HBO tomorrow.
