    Martinez and he will only go to London to fight if he gets some very BIG dollars, that I can assure you. Like it or not, in the end, prize fighting is about the prize, which is money.

    There is no money in it, I can assure you. Nobody here even knows who Brian Rose is.

    As far as we're concerned, he's a guy on Boxrec who's appear to be fighting domestic level journeyman thus far.

    Goosen demanded a 50-50 co-promotion. That means the two promoters share all the revenue on equal terms. HBO money, the gate receipts, endorsements, ancillary monies, et. Out of those monies each promoter will decide how much to pay his fighters.

    The fighters have no ability to negotiate with one another under those terms. PW would not have the abilty to say "Why yes, I'll take 40% of everything, since it amounts to a huge pay day." How much he made would be stictly between him and Goosen.

    Pavlik does not have the abilty to say "Look Paul, here's what's fair. You get 50% of the HBO money, 30% of everything else."

    Goosen's demand for a 50-50 co-promotion took the negotiations out of Pavlik's reach, and put them entirely with Arum. Arum told Goosen "no" to the 50-50 co-promotion 6 months ago. Why would Goosen DEMAND something he knows Arum will never agree to?

    Surely Pavlik has some say in this fight. If he truly wants it, why wouldn't Arum make it happen? Or maybe he needs to leave Top Rank if he's going to be denied the few big-fights he has and be fed stiffs like Lockett, Rubio and Espino continuously.

    In other words, your answer to my question is "no, I have no ****ing clue what the difference between a co-promotion and a purse split is. Someone tried to explain it, but I'm to stupid to grasp the concept."

    When was the last time Bob Arum gave ANYONE 50% control over a fight card with a Top Rank champion in the main event?

    People that know Kelly enough to talk to him on a regular basis tell me he won't fight outside the US. If he is even considering this that tells me it has to be big money, low risk for him to even consider it. Just my assumption from what I know.
