Pavlik/Williams/Martinez/Sturm: Vote your preference.

i would like that too but i have heard it will be martinez...but alot can be heard from now to then

 

i'm just breaking ray's balls b/c he's been on this wanting to see pav embarrassed kick...doesnt matter by who. he's a good poster though; i like batting this **** around w/ him.

yes kelly will have problems early on just like probably anyone facing martinez. there will be an adjustment period. check my previous posts on williams/martinez. i said the same thing. but i implore you to see just who is a part of that 50% ko ratio of martinez. i have never heard of many of them. kelly will be by far the strongest opponent sergio will have ever faced. kelly will be taller, bigger, and much stronger. so while a slick southpaw can give anyone problems...a lot of people are seriously underestimating how strong pav is at mw let alone against a jmw.

martinez did fade down the stretch against williams. this will happen against pavlik as well. the only person to ever get kelly's respect was a 180 + lb atg at lhw. a light punching jmw will not. when bernard would tee off, he was already inside before kelly could react b/c bernard was the bigger stronger man to go along w/ his world class skill. this will not happen when he fight sergio. sergio will put up a fight no doubt. but he will get worn down and stopped. pavlik will outmuscle him when he tries to get in, tie up, and get a breather. he will either get thrown of and popped or start taking those uppercuts. towards the end of the williams fight there seemed to be many more straight lines out of martinez as opposed to early on. i expect the same when he faces pavlik.

but...this is all academic since i think martinez should fight pavlik only if he beats williams soundly in a rematch. but i will admit the irony of pavlik settling for a slick opponent who narrowly lost to the guy he really wanted to fight in the first place is too much for me not to be worried

 

why won't pavlik fight paul williams...I mean he "beat" martinez...i thought sergio won IMO...either way I think pavlik has a better chance against williams since he will be there to get hit...i think sergio will school pavlik

 

Seems it is never who Arum has us believing it will be at the end of it all. I think he enjoys that.

 

Williams has a career payday offer on the table. Will he take it? He was busted up pretty good in his last fight. I think it will be at least 6 months before we see him fight again. Martinez and Pavlik will be ready to go much sooner.

 

I guess i think that pavlik has a better chance against williams...also that could be a potential for a FOTY candidate...I want sergio to stay at the 154 pound division....i give him props for fighting in multiple weight divisions...

he beat cintron and beat williams

 

Mostly agree with you. Sergio KO'd Cintron, won by DQ when Cintron's corner entered the ring and clearly outpointed him and came away with a draw. Not to mention all the extra time Cintron got to recover from the KO. I will not use KD. :bart Not sure why Martinez would ever want to fight in the states again to be honest with you.

 

martinez is a beast man...he's a very talented fighter...not to mention he took the fight on very short notice for paul...i can't wait to see how he fights when he has a full 8 or 9 week training camp!!!!!!!

Don't like Pavlik being matched up with JMW's to be honest with you. It is a no win situation in my opinion. "He beat a ww and a JMW" responses will be the result. Don't understand why Top Rank can't put him in there with legitimate MW's:
1.Felix Sturm(picks up WBA MW title)
1.K. Gevor(has wins over Amin AKinainen, gave AA all he could handle)
2. N'Dam(up and comer with a 70 % KO ratio)
3.Anthony Mudnine(gave Kessler a good fight, experienced)
4.Winky Wright( name recognition with some bad blood)

I mean any of these fights in my opinion, looks better then PW and believe it or not EVEN Martinez. Martinez AND PW are LEGITIMATE JMW's and should stay there.

since taylor pavlik hasn't fought any threat...his camp even thought hopkins wasn't a threat and were claiming they'd be the first to KO him...and we all know what happened there...

kelly pavlik is overrated!
