Pavlik: Williams out / Winky in MAYBE

    According to an article on the scene whaere they talk about boxing Williams priced him self out of a Pavlik fight. That fight was Goosen's idea, but apparently they weren't all that serious.

    The article says that Winky has come to his senses and is now being more realistic about money.

    I hope this fight happens. There is a lot of history between Winky and Team Pavlik. Wright is the only fighter I know of that Pavlik holds personal anomosity toward.

    I like WW, but Pavlik will bust right through that guard & Wright really has nothing to hurt Kelly with.

    i must have missed something, why is it pavlik doesnt like winky?

    When Pav was on his way up they called Winky out several times. Winky ignored them. After Pavlik beat JT, Winky started demanding a fight, and talking smack about Pavlik ducking him, but he would not be reasonable about money. Arum told Wright to go fight Sturm, and come back with something Kelly wants. Winky ignored them and kept talking smack, and being unreasonable about money. This has been going on behind the scenes for a long time. When Kelly was asked about Winky's trash talk, he said, "Winky Wright? Now there's a guy I'd love to smack around." He has made similar statements a number of other times. Winky is the only fighter I've ever heard Pavlik talk **** about. Personally I would love to see Pav against someone he doesnt like!!!!!

    Pavlik vs Winky is the best fight at middlweight along with A A against Pavlik.

    Pavlik and WIlliams is a good fight as well but Pavlik wouldn't get the credit he'd deserve for that one.

    The thing that sucks is that Pavlik and Winky will be on ppv.

    I don't want to see all of Pavliks fights end up that way.

    Top Rank will make Pavlik like Pac and put all his fights on ppv.

    Both Pavlik and Pac are the type of fighters that could make boxing big again, if they had more exposure than ppv.

    I like kelly pavlik in this fight. I think he would win by a wide margine UD. winky has good defense but he doesn't have the power to hurt kelly. This would be a good fight for pavlik to build up his resume :good

    i moved out of youngstown years ago but i personaly know both trainers dan birmingham who used to live there winkys trainer and jack lowe pavs trainer. i just think dan will have him ready for this one. dan is very good trainer. as for jack i don"t know if he could show pav anymore than what we have already seen.

    Bad fight for Kelly with LOwe in his corner . Winky is too much of an ugly style for Pavlik's current style .

    as long as winky isnt too far gone from his best, then this is a baaaad baaad fight for pav
    i said it in the build up to the bernard/pavlik fight and if this fight is set i will say it for this one too winky good 12rd ud

    Pavlik needs to get rid of Lowe as lead triner the man can't teach Kelly anything new !

    Winky has been doing nothing but complaining for the past two years, he doesn't deserve a fight with Pavlik.
    Williams would be an interesting fight and the best match for Pavlik outside of Abraham and Sturm.
