Pavlik/Williams: Pick a Round

I'll take TKO 9. I think Williams' corner throws in the towel after a heavy 8th round barrage.

Let me just give you a run down since you wanna assume! I have nothing against Pavlik its just I'm a Paul Williams fan plain and simple!!

I actually rooted for Pavlik over Edison Miranda cause I seen that Miranda wasn't that good prior to their fight. I felt Miranda was getting all this praise and he's just a brawler ex: (Ricky Hatton, James Kirkland.....ect)

Hopkins is an ATG no doubt about it! but in his first fight with JT the blue print was layed out!!!! Hopkins dosen't want a war and JT was definitely not intimidated and brought the fight to BHop!! Ypu couls see in JT's eyes he wanted to destroy Bhop!! Hopkins doesn't like someone to be aggressive exTaylor and Calzaghe)

Back to Kelly Pavlik!

When Pavlik fought JT I rooted for Pavlik cause he showed me heart and determination in the Miranda fight (KP was buzzed in 5th round by Miranda and still KTFO Miranda!) JT in a good fight with Bhop showed me that he had no stamina in the later rounds in both fights, JT's problem is not training or commitment its him not knowing how to pace himself (low boxing IQ)

Point is, I like the best man to win and in the PW vs KP fight the better man is definitely PW and if you guys wanna get into a further and more in depth debate LETS GO!!

 

TKO 8, ref stoppage, after knockdowns in rounds 2 and 6. KP just simply has too much for PW.

 

ok bud, i respect your enthusiasm and i'm pumped too :good but your all over the place here...let me see if i can piece some of this together.

first off, your gonna have a hard time explaining to some of the hardcore posters on there that jt won both his fights w/ bhop. i think one judge even had it like 116-112 bhop in the first fight.

secondly, it is well documented that bhop was absolutely killing himself to make mw by that time. the amount of roadwork he had to do was incredible. there is a good reason he went straight from mw to lhw in his tarver fight and looked awesome. he jumped 15lbs worth of weight classes right into a title fight and looked physically as good as he ever has and fought brilliantly. it was almost man crush level how lampley and the boys were marveling at his body. by that time...he wasnt a mw absent damn near killing himself

what blueprint are you talking about now...how to beat taylor or how to beat pav. you arent clear on this so i won't assume and just wait for you to fill me in.

you said your a williams fan...you said you want to best man to win which is why you want williams to win. pre-emptive bandwagon hopping

pw has jumped two weight classes to fight _____ ,who is on the same level as bhop. (i'll leave out pav's documented injuries/sickness since i can't sit here and tell you it would have made a difference.)

 

1. Why would I have to explain if JT beat Bhop when It's apparent on his record that he beat Bhop!! When Calzaghe beat Bhop i didn't see the outrage and you can say that fight was debatable!!!

2. At what point are boxers accountable for the contracts they sign!! If someone is a LH and wants to fight a MW or SMW why should there be any excuses if he loses?? Or if someone is MW and wants to fight a LH why should there be excuses!?!?

3. Just in case you forgot!!! Bhop had never fought over 160 before his fight with JT!! Less than 5 month before the JT fight he fought at 160 and less than 1 year he fought Del la Hoya and weighed in at 156!!!!!

4. The point i was making with a blueprint is that JT put pressure on Bhop and thats not how Bhop likes to fight!! Bhop likes to pace himself and pick his shots here and there! JT made it uncomfortable for him like Calzaghe!!

5. I was never a Mayweather fan but after one of his interviews with Brian Kenny i've become a fan!! It seems as if no matter how good he is people will hate on him! Its crazy how whats good or an excuse for the next boxer isn't good for him and yet he's undefeated!!! LOL!! unbelievable!!

6. This is what makes me like even more cause when he loss to Quintana he made no excuses he said "Quintana beat him fair and square!!!"


I numbered everything for you so you can place the number to what ever your thinking bout asking or that you asked!!!!

 

Another point!/question?

There was a post the other day about PW's "being concered with PW's game plan"

1. Why would anyone worry about PW's and Petersons game plan if they're 37-1!!??

2. Wouldn't it make more sense to follow George Pettersons advise and take Pavlik out of Youngstown because of that filthy gym they train in!!

3. I know YOU know that Pavlik has had a problem with that right hand for years not months like people think!!!

 

1. haha dude look around here, a lot of people arent happy w/ the joe decision, but that one wasnt as close as jt/bhop I imo. a lot of very knowledgable guys on here have said bhop really won that fight. so the point is, acting like bhop got outclassed by jt isnt really warranted. one judge had bhop winning by four rounds and the other two had jt winning by 2 rounds...do the math. a win..yes..outclassed..no...and in fact, just read the esb frontpage article about jt that talks briefly about it. don't act like the judge's decision is the be all end all of a fight on this board, haha you know better than that. we've got a board full of judges on here who could care less about what the gale van hoy's of the world say

2. instead of going in circles w/ you about pav/bhop...i'll just ask...you arent comparing pw and bhop whether its in terms of size, styles or whatever, are you?? i hope your answer is no, and if it is, then the pav bhop fight really isnt relevant to this fight considering all the differences, isnt it?

3. yes i'm aware of the weights hopkins has fought at....think about this for a second about the odlh/bhop fight. this is the same fighter (odlh) that was apart of one of the bigger robberies when he "beat" sturm" at 160 right before his fight w/ bhop. he was fat and ineffective against sturm. the very next fight against bhop he had to have it at that weight or else it would have been even worse than it was. you gotta do some research here if you want the full picture. just go back to interviews and whatnot about bhop and how much he had to do to make those weights. are you really going to sit there and argue about how good he looked when he quit doing all that cutting to get to 160. these are bhops own words. theyve had numerous documentaries and interviews not only w/ bhop but w/ his nutritionist who got him up to 175 about how what he was doing was border line unhealthy and how he was basically emaciated at 160.

4. ok, i'm not gonna argue that punch out put will cause bhop to get inactive like he did against joe. but i would hardly call joe winning by debatable decision a blueprint for how to beat the guy. what bhop did to pav is a blueprint (back to the difference between bhop and pw) what joe did to bhop is not a blueprint.

i can't tell if your yelling at me or not w/ all the bold, italics and !!!!.

there are plenty of very thoughtful and well read threads on here from both sides about why pw's gameplan at 147-154 (winky is still smaller that pw) will or won't work. go read one of boo's or nba's or wwm's (or mine ) all sides make some good points. i tend to think that not worrying about your reach, or staying out of your opponents range or leaving yourself open will hurt pw against pav where it hasnt against smaller opponents who get smothered by pw's output. thats about a broad based as i can make it but would encourage you to read posts from good posters from both sides about that.

 

1. I never said he was outclassed I said he had a blue print to beat BHop
just like Calzaghe!! Bring a fight to Hopkins and he'll become inactive!!
KP couldn't bring a fight cause he has to set up his punches to get off
and Hopkins was able to nuetralize that!!

2. No sir i'm not comparing the two! But the one thing I can say is that
KP has never seen the likes of PW just as everyone is saying PW has
never seen a KP!!

3. Everything you said is true! I'm familiar with Hopkins and his issue
(whatever). The one thing everybody fail to realize is that at some
point you should be accountable for your loses as much as these
boxers love to take credit for their wins!!!

4. Personally I think PW can beat Bhop by UD!! So it might not be a blue
print but I thunk PW posses the tools to frustrate Bhops game plan!!
