OK. Count the 3 times you mention. And what was the date of the Williams fight. What was the date of the Pavlik fight? How is that one week? Go ahead. I'll wait. This will be good. And let's not forget, Goosen denies there was ever a contract for December 5. Don't forget to factor that in. If you do, then we factor the time Paul pulled out prior to Bhop when they had a verbal agreement.

OK. Still Martinez on April 4 in AC. But nothing is definite and:

The mother of Jack Loew - the lifelong trainer of middleweight champion of Kelly Pavlik - passed away Thursday. ********* extends our sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Loew family for their loss.

I'd like to extend my condolences also in case any of the team happens to be reading.

Didn't know this, sincereset wishes to Jack and his familly.

As to the topic at hand. lets just give it a few more weeks and see what happens, seem to think Arum my have had other matters at hand.;) Some drug testing ****.

Personally I don't think anyones ducking or to blame for this (YET!!!) situation got ****ed up. If they don't fight this year then that is some bull****, tho would be ok with pwill/matinez and pav/sturm first to build it up even more. If this fight don't happen in 2010 (injury aside) then lets talk **** bout who stopped us seeing this, til then I'm gonna hold my tongue and cross my fingers that it happens.

If you were bored enough to check my posts, you'll find that I NEVER thought this fight should happen. Pdub is just too small. My opinion anyhow.

yeah herm I read enough of your posts to know that, but was more addressing the genral populus i guess.

The question, as anyhone who knows anything has said, is pdub's chin. He does get hit. How would he stand KP's shots?

If he can take it then it will be a madly entertaining fight fight. Don't necessarily subscribe to the "segio hurt him so KP will kill him" school of thought as SM's hand speed and crafty southpaw style enabled him to catch him with those. Still, like i said, Pw does take punches in all his fights and if he takes a few good ones vs Kelly its over. If he can take 'em (BIG if) then he could take a decision in a close one that would prob be FOTY.

Still I think while it lasts it would be a great fight to watch and because of whats gone down with postponements etc it needs to happen IMO. Hell, I think we'd all watch it!

To be honest I think Team Williams are getting seriously worried about his ability to hang with a guy like Kelly. I think Martinez gave them such a fright, he was rocked a number of times in that fight. I dont doubt Pauls fighting heart im sure he'd take the fight but his management are alot more worried then they were a couple of months ago.

Lots of worthwhile commentary on this thread so far. Good job guys. I agree with other posters who said the Pac/PBF thing, and the holidays, could be the main reasons we aren't getting any "breakng news."

I do think that Goosen and Team Williams may be taking a new look at the risk/reward ratio. I think it would be pretty naive to pretend the Williams/Martinez and Pavlik/Espino fights didnt shake things up a bit. If you were George Peterson or Dan Goosen would you want your fighter eating those right-hand /uppercut and left-hook/uppercut combinations right after he got battered around buy a light-middle who has a 50% KO ratio?

I think they are serious about trying to get PW back to 147. One thing is pretty clear to me. Paul Williams is not a middleweight. If he can secure an important fight at 147 and make the weight, that's the right thing for his career. I honestly believe PDub would end up with a post-pavlik career exactly like Jermain Taylor's.

Pavlik has lost a LOT of respect, as well as support, since Hopkins EMBARRASSED, EXPOSED, AND BEAT HIM DOWN!!! He has not been the same since and many of us believe he will never be the same again.

the sturm situation you refer to is the most disappointing for me. i say this b/c sturm is going to make very good money fighting kinko's technicians and cab drivers during those ten fights. it will take more money than hbo or arum are willing to part with to get sturm to agree to part ways w/ his strap in a unification with kelly.

this is bang on. though i think sturm is looking at the end of his career and might be tempted to take one last big pay day before retiring.

on the topic at hand, i have to be honest that the martinez/espino fights likely changed the landscape a bit as boo mentioned. pavlik looks to be back in good condition and will be even better with a proper training camp. williams, despite great physical gifts, is still very flawed and like kelly or not, his fundamentals are terrific; he will take advantage of those flaws.

I certainly hope a Pavlik-Martninez fight can be arranged. While many seem hung up on a Pavlik-Williams fight, I would prefer a Martinez match-up for one reason: I think Martinez presents a more difficult opponent for Kelly.

Williams has talent to be sure, but at 160, I think he trades shots with Pavlik in a highly entertaining, but ultimately disastrous, affair. Pavlik eventually catches and dispatches with Williams.

For the first 4-5 rounds, Martinez may give Pavlik wholly hell.
