So one has to be a Williams ball-scrubber, which presumably you are by your avatar, to make sense??

    Enlighten me.

Pavlik fought December 19th and you are expecting serious negotiations already? It's January 3rd. Pipe down and stfu. HBO probably just starting to put together their spring schedule.

Sources are making it look like the Martinez fight is just about a go for early April.

Kelly Pavlik, i think should push hard for PWill. I just don't see him beating Sergio, and I think Sergio, could make him look bad.

Well, I'll be damned. Finally someone comes in the thread and makes some goddam sense. A rarity on ESB.

Stylistically Martinez is a far more difficult fight than Williams. However, I think Sergio gets hit to much to make it past 10 rounds. Just making into the 10th against Pavlik at 160 would be a major accomplishment since no one has ever done that. Williams would not see the end of 5, and could very well get carried out on a stretcher.

Still no news. Strange how quiet George Peterson has grown.

Goossen now wants Mosley in May, and says the Pavlik fight is unlikely.

If they can make that fight, it's a smart move on Goosen's part. Pavlik would hurt Williams permanently, and judging from the lack of a rubber match with Quintana, and no rematch with Margarito, I'd say PW never rematches Martinez.

Now that's a shame because that was on helluva scrap. I don't know if I like the Martinez fight for Pavlik. Martinez last fight was at 160 and although he looked exhausted late, he showed he can take punches and do damage at the weight. Now, PW doesn't punch like KP, but KP won't be throwing quite as many punches as PW. I'd still pick Pavlik to win, but I like it less and less for Pavlik the more I think on it.

Williams has just about the poorest accuracy of any "world class" fighter. His connect rate rarely exceeds 25% in a given round. He connected 33% over all against Martinez. Sergio ain't hard to hit. If you're not hard to hit, and you're fighting Kelly Pavlik at 160, what always happens?
