Simply vote and comment on the middleweight title fight and war between the reigning and defending WBC/WBO/The Ring Magazine MW Champion Kelly Pavlik and the challenger, current WBO Interim JMW Champion, Paul Williams.

Plus, do you think that Pavlik's loss to Hopkins can help him learn from his mistakes, identify his weaknesses, and prepare him better for a fighter like Williams? Express yourselves...

Pavlik double-jabs his way to a UD.

I think the B hop fight will only have a bearing if the Pavlik clan have not shown some improvement. I mean do we expect the middleweight champ of the world to come in and get a beat down in exactly the same way he did by B hops.

If he has not improved enough to show some adaptation if Williams comes in trying the same things Hopkins did - he deserves to lose.

i am calling it 50 - 50, i dont think Williams is overly slick but he can move better than Pav and throws plenty.

50-50. Dunno how Williams will react when he's being hit by Pavlik's punches

I think Pavlik will come from behind to stop Williams between 7-10. The power and physical strength being the big factors.

    Pavlik is my initial thought.

Simply because I don't see Williams doing anything other than standing infront of his opponents and throwing all kinds of shots. Which is great, but you have to consider his opponents have been 5 or 6 inches shorter in most cases with shorter arms to match, so he can swim without getting wet. The case is quite different if he stands and trades with Pavlik, a very tall long guy himself.

I don't see any counterpunching exhibitions from Paul Williams, and I don't see great movement to upset Pavlik. I see an all action fight, so I've got to favour the heavier hitter, and the guy that should in theory have more natural strength. I also think his straight punching will find a home.

Just glossing over PW numbers on boxrec.

13/14 fights between 154 and 160. Not exactly new territory for him. Just comes down to whether you think Pavlik is a comparitively hard puncher for middle weights.

    I happen to think so

It's new territory in the sense he's fighting a quality operator at middleweight. All due respect to Andy Kolle and some of the others, they didn't really test him or even punch him.

Reasonably hard, consistent and fairly accurate.

Pavlik hasn't lost at 160 yet and Williams is untested at that weight . . . so I'll go with Pavlik.

    Decission or stoppage . . . Pavlik . . . but more on stoppage.

I think this fight will be either of theirs toughest opponent to date. Pavlik has proved he can stand and trade with natural top 10 middleweights , and Williams has not , so I am giving the edge to Pavlik in this one. A come from behind stoppage in the 9th for Pavlik.
