I kind of think that Pavlik will be too big for Winky. Hopkins and Taylor both seemed too big for Winky and Pavlik is just as big as they are. And Winky's always going to be in front of Pavlik with the high guard. JT got through regularly with his right. Pavlik should do the same. But the difference is that Taylor didn't have the workrate or pressure type style like Pavlik does. I love Winky but i would pick Pavlik UD if my life depended on it. Winky is just too small, lacks pop, and is too stationary.

Winky would be a monster at 154 but he's been fighting SMW to LHW sized guys of late.

Size can trump talent and so can youth....those are two things clearly in Pavliks favor....But there is no doubt that Winky was blessed with mad skills.....

...kind of like Nadal beating Federer at Wimbledon yesterday...not nearly as skilled but youth and brute strength won out.....:-(

I think this fight comes down to Winky's legs. But if the last few years are any indication, he's going to be very stationary. He showed enough movement when he was at 154 to be a monster. But at 160, he has been way too stationary. He was still good enough to beat Quartey and fight the bigger Taylor hard, but he can't be stationary against Pavlik.

If Winky somehow gets some juice back in his legs, i would pick him. All i know is that i wouldn't bet a dollar on this fight. Never bet against Winky. :good

Pavlik beats Winky and possibly TKOs him as well. This would be one hell of a night for boxing, Pavlik vs Winky and Abraham vs Marquez.

I prefer Winky over Williams or Mora any day. Us fans get a good fight, Pav gets a very good opponent, and Winky gets another shot and probably good money. Everyone wins! Now just get it signed!!

I totally agree with you Scar. The problem is that I don't think there is any possible way to put both fights on the same card. I could be wrong, but I think Arthur has some commitments to German TV that would prevent that. Oh, but what a sweet card it would be!!!!! I'd pay $99.95 for that ****, and wouldn't even have to think twice about it!

Same here man, it's very possible this card is being planned. Arum already said he wants both on the same card next before they fight each other and Abraham has to fight his mandatory so it's only logical this is next. I'll pay $199 for this and I'm DEAD serious.

I think Winky's legs are a huge question mark at this point. If he refuses to back up, he's goin' home early. If he can adapt to fighting off the back foot, he can make a helluva fight out of it. I don't think Wright could win 7 rounds off the back foot while avoiding Pavlik's right hand, but I do think he could make it close.

Pavlik would stop him late IMO.
BTW can Winky even make 160 anymore?

Actually, I seem to recall Winky saying he would never fght above 160 again.
