Pavlik won clearly. Landed more punches and more power punches by a wide margin and controlled the action. Taylor fans need to stop wining and face reality.

Taylor has no where to go. At 168 he will lose to Calzaghe, Kessler, and Bute. Once Calzaghe moves up Kessler will be the man at 168. HBO will do well to create a super fight between Kessler and Taylor, if Taylor and string together some victories.

Pavlik has great and exciting challenges at 160. Duddy, Abraham, and in 2009 Andy Lee. The Trindidad fight is a mismatch. Tito will be brutally KO'd.

it was a close fight but pavlick won. taylor has got plenty of places to go, if taylor is so finished then pavlick's win means nothing. just because taylor would lose to calzaghe and kessler (not sure about bute) doesn't mean he is done.

I seriously dont see how Pavlik on clearly. I had Taylor comfortably. Pavlik seemed to struggle to land hits while jermaine was landing good snappy hits.

Taylor just needs to stay in the Gym and work hard, his stamina is still his biggest flaw but it was better for this fight than his last one. Like he said he worked his ass of in training and he needs to because he does not have the luxury of great stamina.

Jermain showed improvement and adapted though. He stayed off the ropes and showed much better angles than in their first fight. He also worked the body fairly effectively, even Kelly said he had to dig deep for that 2nd wind around round 9.

Many times he still held that left hand low but showed the speed to bring in up in time when Kelly threw. He has to work on that or he will get picked off by faster boxers. If he stays in the gym and works on some slight technical flaws he can become at least a belt holder or perhaps a champion again.

The only thing keeping him from going 12 strong rounds with Kessler is that stamina, he would get stopped late by Mikkel, but he could outbox Kessler early.

Pavlik Fought A Smart Fight. No Doubt He Was The Winner.
I Dont Think Calzaghe Or Kessler Can Blow Him Out.
The Way Many Posters Here Think. They Will Get The Hardest Fight Of Their Careers Against Kelly.

When I write Taylor has no where to go, I mean he will not become the recognized champion (i.e., RING) at 168, unless Kessler, Calzaghe and Bute leave the division. I still believe he has a lot left as a fighter, just not enough to become a real champ again.

How are you so certain Taylor could'nt win against Joe or Kessler, he has the style to beat both.

What a pointless one-sided thread, whats the point of starting this thread to hate on Taylor?? Im not even a fan, and Pavlik definitely won, but Taylor has plenty of options at Super MW now. I thought the fight ws pretty close, esp in the first half, cant see why Taylor couldnt handle Kessler if he could improve on his dubious stamina.

Future look bleak for Taylor but he is still a world class boxer. I think he will have to take some time out, watch what KP is going to do then make his move.

I too think Kessler, Calzaghe and bute would beat him but he wouldnt be out of his depth. He still has some good wins in him.

I think he could easily get a shot at one of the belt holders, Abraham and Sturm, he could beat them imo.

If you feel that Taylor has no where to go than you are an idiot. He fought wonderfully, and could have won the fight if he punched more. He landed the harder shots and did very good on defense. He is the second best middleweight in the world.

Joe has Pavlik work rate and much faster hands. Style wise i think Joe will present far more problems to JT then Kelly.. I would love to see kelly and joe. I think kelly should do it.. A win there is a fricking huge for his resume for middleweight domminace. But the man has fought 4 tough fights he needs a tomatoe can to beat like old tito or duddy.

The Pavlik victory was everything but a clear one. Actually, I knew the thing would go 12 rounds and that it would be close ( which means that would be a Pavlik win, not a draw)... I guess there is enough matter to change the stupid scoring system - 10 points to the winner of the round, 9 points to the loser of the round - this is not the ten commandments of the Old Testament or the Penal Code! Obviously, Taylor has some good rounds and spends some energy, Pavlik tries to win others to make a case for him and after 36 minutes, you have six rounds to Pavlik and six rounds to Taylor or something like that... Then, the official scorecards are the worst that can be found - 117-111... Mosley-Cotto wit guys landing the same amount of punches, Pavlik vs Taylor II, David Diaz vs Erik Morales, and when a fight is declared a draw ( JCC vs Whitaker) people still go insane... There gat to be a major revision and an Independent Supervisor Commission is required!

    Yup your right.
He lost two fights in a row and is now ruined, he should retire.
