Pavlike vs Williams WTF

Negotiations are going good, just a matter of time before they officially announce it.

 

I think it is one of the best things Pavlik could do right now given his limited options, but I am also a Williams fan. I do have mixed feelings. There is a very good chance that PW will come out of this with long term damage, and never be quite the same fighter. At the same time there is a very good chance that the whole boxing world will refuse to give KP any credit, and criticize him for beating up a welterweight. In case you haven't noticed, the boxing world ain't exactly in love with KP right now, and this could very well prove to be a lose/lose situation for both fighters.

edit: you act like pavlik's resume consists of prime hof's and they were just totally incapable of ever competing again.... pavlik beat a bunch of B level fighters who would never make it over the hump

the joel julios, carlos quintanas, kermit cintrons, edison mirandas, peter manfredos, jeff lacys, k9 bundrages..... it has nothing to do with a fighter literally being "ruined".... these guys met their peaks

and jermain taylor stylistically cant beat pavlik... or any other banger really.... he mentally tucks his tail between his legs and goes into running mode..... that said.... i think he would probably give winky a run for his money & probably beat bhop again RIGHT NOW....

Miranda: sparked the same version of Eastman that went 12 competetive rounds with Abraham, and did okay against BHop.

Taylor: Undisputed, Undefeated Middleweight Champion of the world. Two wins over the longest reigning MW champ of all time. And what the **** does not being able to beat a brawler have to do with fighting Pavlik?

 

WBC had him at #3. He was a solid contender until Pavlik and Zuniga ruined him. I edited my other post for clarity.

you want to hack on resume's? What did Paul do? won a title from one dimensional Margarito and promptly lost it to the great Carlos Quintana! Poached a title off old worn out Verno Phillips, and it ain't even a world title. It's just some "interim bull****!" Then what? He beat a version of Winky that had not fought in 21 months and would lose to the version of himself that barely beat McKart!

I said Pavlik ruined some guys, and you immediately started bad mouthing his resume.. Nothing changes on ESB. The very first thread I started on ESB in 2006 was titled "What Should McKart Do Now." I simply asked, "now that McKart lost to Pavlik what should he do now?" The entire ****ing thread could have been done in one post: "If he lost to Pavlik he must be shot to ****. He was never any good anyway." anyone and everyone who loses to Pavlik gets demoted to bum, club fighter, journeyman, or hype job. Nothing changes on ESB.

 

Walk I know your support of Paul, but his opponents record above 160 is a dismal 29-67-2 excluding Winky(2 year layoff), his best win in my opinion. The hardest puncher he has faced is probably Margarito. My point is the guy is a legitimate 147/154 pounder, and has fought 75% of his career at the respective weights, so to assume someone is an idiot for saying Pavlik beat a welter or junior middle is not making sense. I give PW ALL the credit in the world for facing the MW Champion, but you and I both know fans will say he beat someone smaller. I think it is a no win situation for Pavlik, IN MY OPINION, and a lot of posters are saying PW has this, which I disagree.

 

pavlik didnt ruin anyone....when people reach their peak there is nowhere left to turn to.... i already gave you seven people who peaked out... the people you bring up peaked out against pavlik

how fair is it for me to discount the win if paul has just as good a chance to win? maybe paul's chin isnt built for 160 but its still no walk in the park for either guy .. this fight will decide basically if paul needs to be fighting bigger guys or not
