Williams did take blows from plasterhands(Margarito) so he should be ok. Better boxer normally beats a better puncher. I'd rather see him fight dzindrunk first.

when i say bigger though.. i mean like heavy handed fighters... i mean honestly... it doesnt get any more heavy handed than pavlik... with respect to paul's weight.... going up to 168 at this point would be reaching... theres 0 comp at 154 and he would be able to take any 154 punch anyways... same with 147...

really its a pot shoot because how much more of a banger could he face? i doubt he would go up to 168 and face froch.... although if he could manage to not get hit he could probably skip his way to a ud same with some other 168'ers.... any higher than that is a pipe dream at this moment in time

I honestly have to disagree with you about 154, Martinez, Santos, Cintron, Vanes and even Angulo would give Paul a run for his money, NOT saying they beat him but would give him good competition, I don't understand why he does not fight any of the above mentioned, solidifies his career at 154 and then go up to 160, this fight with pavlik could really ruin paul, AND I TRULY believe that walk, if he loses to Pavlik, especially getting a beating in the process then obviously he goes down to 154 and most of the fighters I have mentioned will be in my opinion more difficult to fight if Paul is not as confident after losing to Pavlik.

Walk at 168, PW DOES NOT LAST 1 round, NOT 1 round, against ANY of the upper echelon fighters.

It is also a huge mistake to assume that all PW has to do to win is take Pavlik's shots. How many guys can effectively counter Jermain Taylor's lead right? How many guys can win jabbing contests with JT in two fights and two divisions? How many guys can effectively counter JT's jab? Pavlik did all those things. Anyone who can do those things can most certainly box a bit! Anyone who saw both Pavlik/Taylor fghts, and did not notice those things, has no business analyzing pee wee football, let alone world class boxing.

he's wants bigger things.... 154 is a bunch of Journeymen type of guys...
they are already trying to set him up with bigger fighters... regardless of how you or I think about the comp... i personally think paul beats everyone in 154 by 4 rounds or worse

and if he loses to pavlik ... he loses.. in life big risks = big rewards... he loses and he risks all of his progress ... the reward of that is that he will be viewed as the biggest bad ass in the sport by far...

thats why i said "at this point"... if you gave him 1 year or 2 too gradually move up and add weight to his frame... if he can maintain the speed he already has & output he would be able to give some people up @ 168 a run for their money...

You do realize that if Paul answers the bell for round 10, he will be doing something that no other middleweight ever did. Remember how much Taylor's stock went up after the first Pavlik fight? Paul could very well create the same situation. All he has to do is make it a good fight, and answer the bell for round 10.

what if he knocks pavlik out....
what if pavlik breaks his arm on the ring entrance...
what if it ends in a draw...

    whats your point?

My point is that if he gets blown out, that's bad news. "The most feared and avoided boxer in the world just got blown out by a one-dimensional plodder." I can hear it now:patsch

One the other hand, if he loses after putting up a valiant effort over 10 or more rounds, he'll get huge props.

I will probably bet huge on Pavlik if this goes down, hopefully I can get some great odds. Pavlik lost every round to BHop and PW won every round against Wright. Pav white, PW black, Pav a drunk hillibilly on the downside, PW great black hope, most feared bla bla bla,

The reason this fight is taking so long to be made is because PW and company know its a fight they are likely going to lose. If they thought they would win, they wouldn't risk blowing the whole damn thing by making outrageous demands. There mindset, instead would be to make the fight, knowing they would then be in the driver's seat for future matches.

I'm really hoping the perception is that PW can win the fight and that the odds on Pavlik stay underneath -250.

Am I really the only one that sees the kind of shots PW takes in his fights?

    Pavlik KO.

I think Pavlik is looking at this as the biggest fight/payday currently available. He doesn't live and die with the postings on this board.
