that could be but i would think his trainer would at least ask," Is it from the blood or something else" when the fighter says i cant see. If it's from the blood clean it up and fight on but if it's a jacked up eye that's bad news. A corner that cares about their fighter should find that out.

youre a moron......does a baeball team quit in a game because they are down by 5 runs in the 7th inning with 2 more games in the series?
pavlik aint thinking from a business standpoint and justify being a quitter because he has a rematch clause. great logic, train a fighter to quit....worse thing you can do.... "theres blood on you kelley, im stopping the fight, its over your eye, but some how you can lose your eye with a cut on youre eye brow"

My question is who in the hell was that cut man? An employee brought in at the last moment from Jack Lowe's asphalt laying company? Are kidding me a WORLD Championship fight and your next door neighbor is the cut man? Are you kidding me?

It probably would have been best to stop the fight when Pavlik was ready to quit, but this also showed a weakness in Kelly. His corner should have talked to Kelly to see what was going on in his mind. I think Kelly has shattered confidence.
The only way to get it back is to get a new trainer and go into another gym with top notch competition. Can anyone say Kronk?

Keep ranting, man, don't stop there! At this point, I don't even care that you're 7 beers deep and missed my point entirely. Not when you're on this kind of roll. Preach on, Brother Iceman!:thumbsup

In that case, Ali would have lost to Liston

A cornerman needs to understand his fighter. My wife could see that Kelly didnt want to fight anymore after the 9th round. And he didnt throw many shots after that. He wanted OUT.

youre just a candy ass , who has no mentality of what its like to be in the ring. youre an arm chair quarterback that likes to put on a nice humane face and story book ending into fights when you dont like how they turn out. on this game when ts actually a fight for a change and someone has to dig deep and pull something out. maybe youve watched one too many boring ass heavyweight fights where no one gets hurt....who knows...but youre obviously way off base thinking a world champion is gonna throw in the towel because hes tired, bleeding and desperate against a guy much smaller than him. so go watch womens golf tomorrow and pray it doesnt rain, you might get upset if they get wet out there :nono:hi:

    You ****ing *****.
YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND.
Pavlik was being sliced, diced and thoroughly outclassed, eating punches right and left, being made a *****, far worse than even Hopkins did him in and you sit here saying all he needed was a knockdown to win??????????

He needed a KNOCKOUT to win and was nowhere close to obtaining that, as he was being beaten to a pulp.
