Don't even try to take away anything from Hopkins' win. Craftyness, intelligence, handspeed, timing, movement and overall skill and style advantage won the fight. Kelly will be back at MW and look good again. But this fight has little to do what Kelly's dad has to say and shorly the excuses will take over ESB.

But not able to throw anything was only the effect of a disease called Bernard Hopkins.

They are excuses, even if legitimate they're excuses.....truth is he got beaten by a better fighter and would lose to Hopkins whenever they fought, no shame in that....the only thing that must wrangle with Pavlik is just how bad he looked whilst losing

And Jack Loew has some front criticizing Enzo Calzaghe when literally all he said in between every round was double up on the jab

Weak. I didn't expect this from Pavlik's camp. You lost to an atg. No shame in that. There's only shame in excuses.

Trouble is the hype and expectation was so high that when Pavlik was made to look bad it surprised a lot of people so the excuses had to be made to try to dilute the humiliating defeat

First it was "It wasn't me", to "I got schooled", "Weight issues" and now "Bronchitis".

    What's next?

    Well.....

The weight issue is complete tosh - we have been hearing for a while that 160 is a struggle, so don't say 170 is too much

If you are not well, don't get in the ring - cancel it. I assume he passed his pre-fight physical, anyway.

Trouble is at the same time as saying he got schooled he was saying that Hopkins wasn't crafty.....doesn't that make the defeat even worse??

Bull****. And if it was true then he is a ****ing idiot. If you are diagnosed with bronchitis days before you fight, you bring out the doctor to the conference, the diagnosis and you postpone the fight. It is all signed, so you simply move the date to December, just like the Calzaghe and RJJ fight was postponed when Calzaghe got injured.

I have a feeling this could be a reoccuring bronchitis, it is likely to flare up again if he ever fights Kessler, Bute or Froch.

Exactly. If he wasn't feeling well they won't allow him to take the fight anyway. He didn't look sick at all, especially during the weigh-in.
