believe me these are not excuses....kelly knows hops beat his ass and gives him his respect...kelly doesnt understand why he fought so badly.and he thinks it is because of all that was wrong.u people just love to make something bad even worse...and as far as jack is concerned he couldnt understan it either..looking at your fighter and seeing someone else worries you that something is wrong..none of u know **** about all of this ...u say jack is a bad trainer dont forget kelly won 34 fights..give them some slack and chalk it up as a very bad loss for kelly and a experience he will learn from..also all this **** talk doesnt give hops the props he deserves..he fought an excellent fight and again i cant see too many people winning against that hops that night
it is the ****ing guys father!!!!!! what dont people understand????? KP was sick he went on because he is a warrior...he got beat...HE MADE NO EXCUSES after the fight!!!!!!!!! He def could of but he gave hopkins his moment....I dont think anyone in their right mind thinks KP couldbeat Pav totally healthy...it is what it is BHOP SMOKED a sick Pavlik...if he was healthy he would have just beat him instead of totallly embarassing him.....But dont sit here and say stop the excuses when the guy fought with bronchitis and HIS FATHER who is sick of seeing HIS SON get **** on finally leaks it out
"And it's not that he's that good. For crying out loud he lost to Jermain Taylor, twice. I beat Jermain Taylor twice, I beat him by decision and I knocked him out. It has nothing to do with his athleticism or his craftiness. Jermain Taylor hit him at will. Calzaghe hit him at will. It's just that I didn't have anything. " That's a lot of respect he's giving him.
I can not believe the hippocarcy in here? Not ONE poster in here in the same situation would have not mentioned the sickness after the fight...He hid it and just said he wasnt himslef to give hopkins credit...Bhop deserves all the crdit in the world but it does explain a bit of the beatdown if he was sick...WHY would his father hold that in...they are human beings....his son just got beat on with bronchitis...I have seen no quotes that say we want a rematch and we would have won BUT..... his father simply said he was sick and people have to pst it on here for the SOLE PURPOSE of getting everybody to hate KP..talk about kicking a guy when he is down
well if you see pavlik knocking about youngstown anytime soon, you tell him he fought so badly because the bloke in front of him was a vastly superior talent to him and that he has a lot to learn before he goes mixing it with the big boys. it was all to do with hopkins, these excuses just make team pavlik look like a bitter bunch of fools and will see them losing respect fast unless they keep it shut.
that is how he feels...bhop did lose to JT twice....I like the guy but I personally think that is a bunch of horse**** and laughable but that doesnt change the fact that he had bronchitis and of course his father is going to tell the media...they obviously had a pact within the camp to not let it out for fear of this abuse he is now taking since loew said he is NEVER fighting out of 160 again....that guy Loew SUCKS
I've been a lurker on this site and enjoy reading all the comments. I respect divergent opinions. Nevetheless, I admit I'm confused about today's state of boxing vs. years ago. Case in point is the recent Pavlik vs. Hopkins fight. First, I believe Pavlik was outboxed by Hopkins. But, what did Pavlik lose ? A perfect record, which few fighters achieve. He did not fight for his middleweight belt or a title fight. He did put lots of money in his bank account, and at 4 to 1 odds, if I was a betting man, I may have betted against myself. Second, these catchweight fights are similar to wrestling matches. Here, Pavlik moves up two weight classess from middleweight to Lt Heavy weight for a non-title fight ? He never fought at that weight before, I think ? What happened to tune up fights and fighting up through the ranks in a certain weight class ? Third, if Hopkins was fighting for the middleweight belt, I think the Pavik performance factor may have been different. Fourth, De La Hoya was stopped by Hopkins, yet the naysayers have little problem paying to see him fight PacMan or other ridiculous bouts that again are non-title fights. And, no one says De La Hoya was exposed or a bum when he had to stop fighting due to a body shot by Hopkins. Finally, these professional fighters are at such a higher level that it is not beyond reason to make these fights sparring matches or a day at the gym for them. They can hedge on output, hold back on knockouts, and do just about anything to let you think it was a true fight. It is snake oil and smoke and mirrors with suckers paying to see these stupid fights. So, this fight sustains Hopkins as an aging fighter who can fight Jones or Calzaghe (sic) again for more money. It sustains these guys for a few more years. If they were such greats why not fight for the middleweight belt or a championship bout ? I can see no gain for Pavik for taking this fight other than a big pay day and being assured of future fights by the match makers. I also think that Pavik will be back and clean up the middle weight division. He is young, hits hard, and needs a few adjustments. These are solely my own personal opinions. Cheers, KMcD
it is not team pavlik....it is his father...Again loew said he will never fight past 160....which is more cowardly of loew than his dad saying he had bronchitis because he is clearlly blaming it on weight
ah welcome my friend...good post but u r going to get destroyed on here haha...DE LA HOYA was the antichrist after he got ko'd...faking, bum, stiff, fat u name it...but he didnt even get as dominated as kp..it was actually even The hate for KP comes more from calzaghe fans than BHOP fans IMO...BHOP fans are more secure in his legacy and see that BHOP killed him while CAlzaghe fans cant shake that feeling that Joe is fighting a fairly washed up 1990's legend and KP talked **** about calzaghe so they feel they have to tear him apart and try to expose his character as bad as well as his skills
Show me where Pavlik gives Hopkins the proper credit. He basically said Hopkins had nothing to do with him losing.
