Pavlik's dad: Kelly had bronchitis!

I wasn't fixed & I said the same thing...after the 1st 30 seconds, when Pavlik hadn't thrown 1 jab yet. He was a fool for not post poning the fight. That would have been the right thing to do. Calazghe did it...Abraham did it.

Kelly messed up bigtime. If he was 100%, he might not have won, but it would have been a fight, at least.

Then again, maybe he would have won.

I know you're a Pavlik fan and might not like what I'm saying but it's not exactly me who's saying this, it's all Pavlik and his team. If you search any boxing news site you will find more than one article about why Pavlik lost coming straight from Pavlik, his trainer and father. First they mentioned the weight, now various injuries, being sick and having a bad day.

That's THEM saying this, not me.

 

They also mentioned a list of excuses to why they lost, YOU must only hear what you want to hear. I heard both and they're confusing me.

 

It must be internet time at the special needs school.....

With no experience i could have given Kelly better advice in his corner.

Unless he gets rid of Loew and adds some new combinations/style to his current predictable 1,2 attack, Abraham is gonna school and stop him.

if its true its true, that doesnt change that Bernard was the better man that night, Kelly should learn from this if that is the case, you cant fight if your not 100%

Kelly does seem like the kind of fighter who doesnt want to let his fans down, so it wouldnt shock me to hear he took a fight knowing he was sick. its only one loss, he will be back, he still has two wins over Taylor who beat Hopkins twice, and he has a good win over Miranda in fact he may have been the man who derailed Mirandas future in the sport.

either way Pavlik is young enough to come back from this, Hopkins needs to retire now, if there is no Jones fight retire there is nothing left to do.

If this is true then it was a very bad decision. You can't fight if you're ill...simple as that.

 

If Pavlik really was ill or whatever his problem is and if he doesnt rate Hopkins that much ie mentioning that Taylor and Calz ho him the n why doesnt he offer Hopkins a rematch?
I'm sure Hopkins would love another easy pay day after finding his new lease of life and returning to his blockbuster exciting style!!

 

i believe that he may have been sick and his elbow was sore.....ALL OF THAT. But I also believe that if PAV was 100% the most he'd win would be 3 or 4 rounds with the version of bHop that showed up this past Saturday.

 

I buy in to it as well....but I still don't think a 100% healthy PAV would have beaten or done that much better with the Bernard we all witness on Saturday.

 

Winning?? I don't think that is debatable if we are talking about PAV vs BHOP at 170....or 160 even, Although I think PAV would make it a very closely contested battle in his divison. PAV just didn't have the style to combat Bhop....or at least the verison we saw on Saturday. The movement (lateral,head and Footwork) all caused Kelly issues. The activeness and counter punching made it that much harder for kelly. I love Kells.....He just needs to learn from this.....I do believe he was sick and was bothered by the elbow...but he obviously felt he was bad enough to take the fight regardless of all the "facts" that his team brought to the surface after the fight. The best PAV would still loose to the very BEST BHOP anyday of the week....and i'm not knocking PAV...I just call a spade a spade.

Anyway can't a fighter lose without any excuses,also consider Pavlik himself didn't say this,his dad did
