BAHAHAH! I never knew this. What a total joke. Thank goodness Vitali K has ended that circus for good. Now everyone clearly understands what Peter really is. He can still do some things later, maybe, once the K Bros are gone, but the "HW Savior" nonsense is finished permanently.

Peter and Pavlik certainly got exposed, no doubt about that. I'm sure the HBO spin doctors are working feverishly to try to begin Pavlik's image rehab for this weekend's replay. I would not be surprised, seriously, if they weren't somehow behind the whole "promote the bronchitis" angle.

I don't think that is what kelly wanted out of what he said...he simply said he was sick

Excellent post. You might be right about JT/AA, he might just be a little too big and fast for The King.

I love Pavlik, and Hopkins. Kelly will be fine, and now he knows what he needs to work on. He's still got 2 MW belts, he'll be ok. :good

No shame in losing to a legend, especially the way BHop fought on Saturday.

Doesn't matter what Pavlik wants, it matters what the wise old arseholes of ESB want, and that's a Hopkins Pavlik rematch :deal

Pavlik deserves a rematch because he wasn't 100%. Hopkins got lucky, he got Pavlik at a bad time, a rematch is in order once Kelly has finished his course of antibiotics and the doctor has cleared him of any lasting effects of bronchitis.

It's only fair that Hopkins grants him a rematch.

I totally agree with that ...he fought and lost...but he has the right to let a reprter know that he was sick...how hard is that to figure out...if he said immediately after the fight " Larry....I was sick as hell and I want a rematch then he would be a ****ing fool...but a reprter asks him what the hell happened and he says well I was sick...prob in context with a bunch of praise for BHOP and veryone says he is some kind o sissy ...like anyone in this forum would not mention it after getting destroyed

I am powerful, can't you feel it?

Look, I just call it as I see it. This is spin doctoring stuff, plain and simple. Just as was eardrum/broken hands from Peter. Don't believe everything you read or hear.

This is about protecting an asset and preserving the asset's value in the marketplace. Was Pavlik sick? He may well have been. It's not about that. It's about trying to convince the public he wasn't 'right' so that they buy the tickets and the PPV's next time. This is business, and I'm just pointing that out and saying it's weak. I get it, and I'd do the same thing if it were me or my fighter, but I would expect to get called out on it, too.

If you're sick, don't fight. AA just canceled his fight. If you fight, don't make excuses. Old School.

I respect Kelly, but he and his management should've known better if this was such a serious matter... hopefully this serves them as a learning experience in future fights... the more I hear things from fighters after their losses, the more I respect miguel cotto for being an example of great sportsmanship and humble to the game...not a lot of them left in this sport...

yeah its an excuse he just admit he lost to better boxer and try to learn from his mistakes.

    hopkins would always beat kelly
    joe would always beat lacy
    vtial would always beat peter
    etc etc.

he was just outclassed, now if he would have won would he have said that, i dout it !

I love the excuses fighters always come up with after losing a fight. I just love how we never hear about any of this stuff right before the fight.

If Pavlik didn't say THOSE caused him to lose... then they aren't excuses.
