Bull**** excuse imho. You can look at the replay and see the clean, HARD left hand that Martinez landed on him to open that second cut. Both cuts were caused by Kelly eating punches. Kelly got outfought and lost to the better man. Sergio deserves every bit of his credit.
If this is the manager's main excuse, then his second excuse should be that Pavlik won't undergo surgery to correct his Ronald McDonald-moving clown feet.
He FINALLY fights someone who is not a bum and we find out he cuts like a pasty little girl. Quit making excuses he could manage the weight class if he wasn't all hype.
The cut man did do a poor job, it was pretty obvious he didn't know what he was doing. But I still believe Sergio would of took it. Martinez was doubling up and putting punches together, and using good head movement to slip Pavliks shots. Pavlik just got out worked.
Yes, this is bull****. But I was refering to posters around here who start screaming when the cut is mentioned, like someone is trying to diminish Sergio's accomplishment. No excuse, blood in a fighter's eye ALWAYS makes it harder for him to perform as he would if the cut wasn't there. This is a fact. Yes, Pavlik would probably still lose even if he wasn't cut, but the cut made it even harder for him and easier for Martinez.
**** that he lost because Martinez was the better boxer and was dominating him all night apart from 3 of the middle rounds. Pavlik needs to get a new trainer Jack loew has taken him as far as he can go. He needs to sharpen up his footwork and combination punching.
According to Wiki, it was "Top 5 Reasons You Can't Blame" and the one on Bode Miller was in the 3rd season. It's not like Miller was scripting and hosting the episode I only remember it because the argument was so bizarre. Vince Lombardi? Really?! It's probably online, but I doubt either of us will ever care.
