Anyone hear anything yet about who Pavlik will fight next and what time period they are looking at? Any names of opponents being thrown around? I know it is still early, just thinking maybe someone might have heard something.

Rubio is his WBC mando. He might fight him.

As of right now Bob Arum says it will be Rubio in February, and then Abraham next summer. People will accuse Pavlik of ducking AA, but sometimes you have to stop thiking like a fan, and think like a manager or promoter. It's a smart move, and AA will still be there next summer.

Anybody seen Old Yank around this board the last 24 hours? There was no bigger Pavlik supporter here. I'm curious to see what he made of the fight, and if he's changed his tune.

I believe he should fight his mandatory Marco Rubio to build his confidence back up and then sign a fight with Abraham.. That should be his main priority from now.. He shouldn't be looking up past 160 and until that fight happens..

Of course I came back! I've been a boxing fan for over 40 years, and ESB is the best place to talk boxing on the net. Futhermore, I am nowhere near ready to throw in the towel on KP. Holy ****! He beat JT twice, damn near beat the black off Miranda, and has knocked out a whole string of guys who never got stopped until KP stopped them!

He lost a fight to BHop. Well -- so did Wright, Tarver, and Oscar! A middleweight lost a fight to the 2nd best LHW in the world. KP did not get beat up bad, nor did he go down. Tarver did, and Oscar got knocked the **** out.

Pavlik beat the man who beat Hopkins twice. It's one of those "styles make fights" issues. And, Hopkins is obviously nowhere near shot, as many of us thought he was.

I didn't see the fight, but from what I've read here, Pavlik had nothing to be ashamed of. Good and even great fighters lose if they fight other good and great fighters. It's the way the sport works, and should work. SRL got spanked by Duran first time around. Didn't stop him, as far as I recall.

90% his mandatory, for his MW championship, which people seem to forget that despite loosing to an ATG several weightclasses above MW, wasn't affected last night.

His mandatory would be a good way for him to get back in the game.

160 is where he should stay for sure, if i recall the second taylor fight was at 166?? he didnt look as impressive there and at 170 he looked lethargic and a bit soft around the midsection, i know he isnt usually incrediably ripped but he didnt look in as good a condition physically as usual.

the mandatory would be a good start, then a fight with abraham or sturm. whatever happens i think he is capable of bouncing back and holding every major title in the middleweight division.....:bbb

I think it'd be a smart move to do that. He needs to fight a decent fighter, but not someone extremely dangerous just yet to get back on track. Going against Abraham immediately would be a mistake IMO.
