And the cut didnt start happening until Martinez fist made it happen.... Come on dude. Pavlik was beaten and would get beaten by Martinez 9 times out of 10. His only shot against Martinez would be to land a big big shot and finish him quick. Martinez is too slick and now that he is growing into a more powerful MW Pavlik really only has that hayemaker shot. I would not be surprised to actually see Martinez stop Pavlik this time around. All this footage of him hitting pads and saying he has his speed and power back are forgetting that hitting pads is not the same as fighting someone who is hitting you back. I think people are forgetting his last fight against Lopez who is a mediocre fighter.
Nobody whips Sergio!!!! Err...except Margarito that one time ...but that was long before the Sexy Era (if we are cherry picking versions of guys :tong)
What does he do better than Chavez? Pavlik and Chavez are in the same league. Well a 100% Pavlik was anyways. Right Now Pavlik is nothing more than a gatekeeper.
The same one that was almost stopped in round 2? If Taylor had not been stupid with his finishing he would have stopped Pavilk.
Your gonna get proved wrong! The Only thing Chavez does "better" Is Going to the Body more! Thats it! KO7 Pavlik
1-2 tuneups that's understandable. After this tho, time to get Kelly back on the saddle again. Eager to see if we getting a better, improved Pavlik.
Ummm.. for starters he hits harder. Pavlik may now be a gatekeeper. But at one point in time, he was the consensus best at 160lbs. That, my friend, is a distinction Chavez Jr. will never enjoy.
Coulda, shoulda, woulda. And if the refs didn't stop the fight, Meldrick would have beaten his daddy. The bottom line is that Taylor didn't, and Kelly left him in a heap. Taylor, incidentally, would have slapped the **** out of Chavez Jr.
Hey Rusty, just wanted to tell you that I was one HUGE Pavlik fan back in the day, watching him climb the ladder. I still support him & hope he stays on track & kicks some major ass again. Also wanted to tell you that I was in AC on Sept. 29, 2007 to see KP by KO over Taylor. A night I'll never forget. Were you there that night or were you just a kid then? :good
I did not make it to the fight! I was 21 that year, and i did watch it live at my house with my pops and friends! I Remember my dad Yellin in the 2nd Round " He is a bum! He let that N-word drop him" i mean im not racist but i remember everything said and what i did that day! I wish I was 1 of the 5000 who made the trip from Y-Town!
