The poster who posts here as JSimps does a radio show in the Youngstown Ohio area. He interviewed Jack Leow today. According to Leow none of the guys on HBO's "short list" made the cut. Pavlik nixed the whole damn list and picked somebody else, and it's pretty much a done deal. Leow said it's "BIG," and should be announced in the next few days. Who the hell is out there, and available, that would make it "big" news?
Maybe Williams? Since HBO wasn't keen on putting Williams vs Dizunrik, and Pavlik desperately wants to get back into the limelight.
its has to be paul williams....he wasnt on the HBO list....and is big, literally and figuratevely speaking...
Supposedly Williams/Dzunrik is on October 3rd. Pavlik thought he had the October 3rd date, but I forget to mention that Leow said they moved his date to late September. Plus, I don't think Jack Leow would consider Williams a "big" fight. I would, but I doubt Jack would.
If that's the case, than I am thinking It's Wright, Martinez, or Strum. Out of those 3, I'd like to see Pavlik fight Martinez.
Sturm was on the list that got nixed. Also he said he wanted some time off even before the Gevor fight, and then he got pretty banged up in that fight.
I'm pretty sure the IBO ordered Mundine to give Geale a rematch. I don't know what the time frame is for that.
I wonder who it is. :think KP's going to be back in the ring and putting people on the canvas soon, so that's what matters the most.
In a surprise move, Tito Trinidad comes off a year long hiatus to fight the reigning MW champion Kelly Pavlik
