If it's Paul Williams, then yes. Wasn't this guy just fighting at 147 last year? He has no chance against Pavlik.

Everyone i think i have been right all along. Lets go back to the basics. Winky, Balzay, Martinez and Sturm were on HBOs short list. Thats out. Williams is scheduled to fight Martinez. Thats probably out, because HBO would have to pay Dzinziruk a **** load to step aside. Considering if Kelly wins Dzinziruk will not get a fight in the US for a long time.

So back to 3 options. Alan Green, Sakio Bika (well that must be out because hes fighting next week).

So Alan Green or Mundine! I think the answers there. Im right yes?

Well when all the options are out. They are definetely bigger than Mayorga and Forrest. I would think.

I think your confusing names a bit

is Williams fighting Sergio Martinez .. or the 2nd name (WBO titlist)

it's one of the 2, and I've heard of the October date, but since there's no confirmation (feel free to retort) is it true the fights been signed off on? or is it still negotiating at this point

cuz we talked about this on a page or so back, and i said unless Williams is signed to fight someone else

it would be a no brainer for HBO to push for the Pavlik-P-Will showdown.

**and why would Bika or Green even be considered? both are current Super Middles and wasn't the Pavlik fight said to take place at 160?

I hope it is Paul vs Kelly. But on the 18th of July Goosen said they rejected 50-50. And managers and promoters are arrogant like this. And then Dan two days ago reported October 3rd for Williams Dzinziruk. Thats why im skeptical its williams. :-(

    ^ nice article.

but is that Williams fight in October confirmed? as if it really was all set to go, why is he being talked about as fighting vs Pavlik ... doesn't seem to make sense, unless contracts aren't signed and Paul is still available.

regardless I hope it'll be Mundine or Williams as on paper and for the fans, either of those 2 are probably the best fights out their for Pavlik.

Jack said, it isn't anybody on the original list that was approved by HBO. So that rules out 4 fighters. He also said people will not be surprised, it's somebody' "big", and it'll be at 160. That leaves everybody else is contention. He would not come out and say who it is, on or off the air.

I do know, but not from Jack. He names has been mentioned in this thread and other threads. Hope that clarifies things...

whoops, you answered the Williams bit

but still with October 3 months away, you'd think some kind of official press release would come out if Williams was slated to be on HBO on that fight card.

It was scheduled to be on a double header with Arreola. I doubt they will let Arreola headline his own card. Especially against Maskaev.:nono

Yes, Youngstown, home of "The Ghost".

I was told they would know in 1 to 2 days and they would release it. That was on Wednesday.
