Why did he end up on the canvas and on jelly legs so many times then? Espino was a tough kid with a good chin but to say he wasn't bothered by any punches is foolish on his part. There is empirical evidence to the contrary. This seems to be a common occurance, to deny being hurt by punches despite being knocked out. Come on.
Espino's trainer was definitely impressed by KP's power. Waving that bloody towel in the air presented a visually dramatic way to end a fight.
:rofl I caught that in his interview too. He got knocked down three times, had obviously lost his legs, but he was never hurt? Tough kid, but come on... He's not fooling anyone with that line.
Nope -- I do think Espino graduated from no-hoper to gate keeper last night. He was ranked #3 by the WBC, but that's not very meaningful. Pavlik did what he had to do to keep the ABC's from stripping him: he beat up a guy he could beat even if his left hand failed him. The fight showed that Pavlik's hand is okay, and he is ready to get his career back on track. Nothing more.
I know what I read. This was not suddenly. I don't care what the writer says. As time went on the hand did not respond as the doctors had said it would. Nothing 'sudden'. Is the red text your quote or not? Did I miss some sarcasm?
I think these guys tell themselves this because they have to believe it to get back in the ring. Edison Miranda is the best example of this.
We're cool. I'm not the type to try and start keyboard wars, I just got riled by the 'were you born stupid'.
