i think taylor will come in even more shook and get knocked

 

If Taylor wins I will be very surprised and impressed. As somone stated earlier he does not have a very good boxing mind. His defenseive fundamentals are not good, he resorts to poor his instincts when pressured, he has the recent memory of the KTFO in the back of his mind, and he has poor stamina. Maybe @ 168 he'll have better stamina, but that's unknown. If he can somehow overcome these obstacles/habits just for this one fight, that would be impressive.

 

1) I never said Pavlik wasn't top-10. I was simply pointing out that stats like a fighter's KO% are meaningless without considering the opposition level in the majority of his fights.

2) Kelly Pavlik is UNIFIED Middleweight champion, not Undisputed.

3) And even if he was Undisputed Champ, it wouldn't be because of his KO%. It would be because he won all of the titles.

 

He is the WBA, WBC, Linel and Ring Champ. That is undisputed if you ask me. The other belts dont mean much when there is a lineal and ring champ,

He has KO'd the best fighters he has been in with. So at the highest level currently he has a 100% KO ratio .:good

 

There are other "champs" around who dispute it, so whether you like it or not, he isn't undisputed. Whether he would beat them in your opinion or mine is not relevant.

What happens if Kelly DOES beat the IBF & WBA Champs? What does he become then if he is already "Undisputed". :think

If you can base it on as little as 2 fights, there are literally thousands of fighters with 100% KO ratios against the best they have been in with. :roll:

 

Basically what you are saying is that the ratio's do not matter I would imagen? I would say they do they give a good insite into sombodys power. His power has shown to be very good and persitant.

Also Joe Calzaghe does not have the IBF belt. He is undisputed :good.

 

You would IMAGINE correctly. KO% doesn't mean squat unless you take into consideration the quality of opposition. And a KO% over the course of 2 fights is basically irrelevant as well. Mike Grant is 2-0 with 2 KOs in his last 2. Is he in your top-10 Hewvyweights list?

Calzaghe won the IBF belt and never lost it in the ring. :deal

Pavlik has never won the WBA or IBF. :deal

 

Pavlik has a pretty good jab, good speed, great work rate, throws a whole bunch of punches from different angles as well as straight ones... this fight could very well turn out the be an easy UD for Pavlik...

He hits so hard that he breaks down every opponent in 6 rounds and even if Taylor wins 4 out of the first 6, Pavlik still gonna bring the fight to another level in the middle rounds so I can see a decision win for Pavlik too. Especially if Taylor will be more cautious and Pavlik will stick to his jab more. It can turn out to be a boxing match but I predict a late TKO or UD for Pavlik anyway.

One of the biggest jokes last year was the scoring of the Pavlik-Taylor fight. Even with the knockdown in the 2nd I had Pavlik ahead by 1 point and on one card Pavlik won just ONE round in the whole fight. What a joke! With those judges it looks like all Taylor has to do is SURVIVE. But with natural judges, Taylor just won't outbox Pavlik as he is too busy in every minute of every round and always finds another gear in the middle rounds to brake down anyone in front of him.

 

If the little dog wouldn't have stopped to pee, he'd have caught the rabbit! There are just way to many if's in any scenario that leads to a Taylor win, and IF is a mighty big word in boxing. I like JT, and I wish he would have taken a different course into the future because he is pretty much ****ed in the upcoming rematch. He is not going to correct flaws that he has had for years in one training camp headed up by Ozell Nelson.

Some one mentioned that JT should have been using the uppercut more. That is TRUE. That's a punch Kelly is very open to a lot of the time. Manny told JT that, but JT didn't listen. Manny told JT how to win, or at least do a lot better. JT failed to execute, and then fired Manny. WTF!

If Taylor comes in and works really smart at making it a boxing match, Pavlik knocks him out in 10 or 11 rounds.

If JT comes in scared and tenative, Pavlik backs him up, turns the ring into a ****ing phone booth, and blows him out in under 3 rounds.

However, I expect Taylor to bull rush Pavik, and try to recreate round 2 of the first fight. In this case we get a repeat of the first fight only Pavlik doesn't showboat so it only lasts 5 rounds.

This is Taylor's ultimate problem, and what stops him from improving. He simply cannot figure things out in the ring, and cannot adapt. He'll make the same mistake over and over again.
