Goosen said they are not gonna fight Pavlik on December 5th, until they get a full medical report from Pavlik's doctor. They say they don't want to fight someone who is not at 100%. With the medical report, they say they will be able to know if Pavlik is available to fight on December 5th. Pavlik will return to the doctor in a few days to get medical clearance for the fight.
What could possibly be going on other then Goosen and Williams dont want to waste their valuable time and money on a fight that may or may not happen? A doctor's full report is a more then reasonable request. Its Pavlik who isnt mature enough to take care of his infection but its Goosen who'se trying to pull a fast one? Get real... If I was Goosen I would taken another fight for Williams already.
Team Williams just don't get it. MAKE THAT INTERIM FIGHT BECAUSE THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEE THAT THE PAVLIK FIGHT WILL EVER HAPPEN!
This boxing, dude. You gotta read between the lines what is going on. U can't believe everything u read, ya know what I'm saying?:good
It's fair enough for him to ask for a report if Team Pavlik are looking for a the fight to be fixed on a new date. From Goosen's perspective, it's possible that they'd claim Pavlik is fine so that the fight could be agreed, but then that the injury wouldn't recover in time and they'd have to pull out again, in which circumstance PW would have wasted months waiting for Pavlik. If Goosen sees the evidence that Pavlik is in good form, he can agree to a new date with little or no fear of that date getting pulled. Still, the idea that Pavlik is feigning injury to duck Williams is absurd and totally inconsistent with recent events, and this shouldn't be construed as a legitimate move by Goosen to check Pavlik's not just running away.
A medical report would essentially constitute a guarantee, though; that's the point. If Pavlik is cleared, they have no reason to find another opponent. :huh In any case, this fight is probably now or never. Pavlik will have a mando early next year, which means Williams would be fighting twice before they could feasibly get it on. But Williams would by then have properly got himself a title at 154 and would be tied to that.
This sounds like Haye-Wlad all over again. The William Team is getting tired of waiting, and may want to move on.
I know what sport this is. Let me ask you a question. If it was your money, time and career that was at stake, would you ask for a medical report? I know I would.
I'm not sure - this is no more like Haye-Wlad than it is JMM-Mayweather, or ****ing Hagler-Hearns! Haye badmouthed the Klitschkos for months and behaved like a complete arsehole, and managed to get a shot he didn't earn or deserve off someone who was supposedly ducking him. He then pulled out of the fight through an injury. Pavlik, on the other hand, CHOSE to fight Williams over several easier options and made the necessary sacrifices when a deal couldn't be reached, and has behaved much more respectfully than PW's team who, jokingly or not, have published doubts about Pavlik's sanity, health as well as talking **** about how their going to break up his "china chin".
