    12 Rounds. IBF Cruiserweight Eliminator

    In Poland

    Kolodziej (Poland) is 29-0
Ille (Rumania) 18-4-2. This is for is IBF intercontinetal trinket.

Serious Mutt and Jeff matchup. Like, the height differential btx Kolodziej and Ille is ****ing HUGE.

    Here we go.

    Round 1

Kolodziej starts by jabbing and circling, Ille periodically responds by jumping in with hooks. Most of them miss by a mile. The Pole starts shooting the right downstairs and by the end of the round has Ille backing up.

    10-9 PK

    Round 2

Kolodzeij continues to move forward and measure. Ille backs up and his awward lunges become a bit less frequent. BIG right by PK has Ille in full retreat near the end of the round.

    10-9 PK

    Round 3

Interesting turn of events. Ille storms out and begins to maul PK on the inside. The Pole appears to be bothered by one of the shots, and isn't really able to get much accomplished this stanza.

    10-9 Ille

    Round 4

Back to normal, with Kolodziej working off the jab, and Ille retreating. Another BIG rght hand stuns Ille near the end of the round, and PK batters him with few more punches before the round ends.

    10-PK

    Round 5

Lather rinse repeat. PK edges forward behind the jab and looks to find the payoff punch with the right. It lands a few times, but Ille's got CHEEN, and holds up well under them, even though his own landed punches are few and far between.

    10-9 PK

    Round 6

Fight's getting ugly. Lots of clinching and mauling and pushing down from PK,earning a stern warning from Mickey Vann. Ille actually lands the best single punch when he clips PK with a right hand. So I'll give the round to the short stubby Rumanian.

    10-9 Ille

    Round 7

PK comes forward and stalks behind the jab, putting rights behind it on occasion. Near the end of the round, one of those rights knocks Ille onto his but for a KD! PK follows up, and has Ille looking shaky as the round ends. Ille's right eye is starting to swell a bit from the steady diet of jabs he's been forced to consume.

    Round 8

PK comes out looking for the finish, but even though he batters Ille around the ring, he can't find the combination needed to end matters. About halfway into the round, Ille makes a stand and starts to come forward, swatting at PK with combinations. This convinces PK to circle away and adopt a more tactical approach. Good round...best of the night by far.

    10-9 PK

    Round 9-10

PK loose, left hand low as he pumps the jab, and shoots the right hand into Ille's face over and over again. A couple of times, it looks like he might be on the verge of scoring a stoppage, but each time Ille charges forward and fights his way off the ropes. At end of the 10th, Ille lands a right over the low left that jolts PK, forcing him to hold on. Not enough to win him the stanza, but at least he's still in the fight.

    Both rounds for PK

    Rounds 11-12

Things get chippy as the two exchange fouls in the clinches. Some nasty exchanges too. Ille continues to throw himself at the much taller man and eats a variety of counters for his effort. BIG series of right hands at the end, but Ille makes it to the final bell.

    Both rounds again to PK.

    My scorecard: 118-109 for Kolodziej.

Watching with the sound down, but Kolodziej wins the decision. I imagine the scorecards were pretty wide, because while this fight was entertaining at points, it wasn't really all that competitive.

PK has a bit of K2 about him in how he fights. Be interesting to see how he fares against the top teir fighters of the division.

I know my reports aren't as detailed as IB's...But, It's not like anyone else was gonna cover this. :good

So three Poles in the IBF top-15 now, if iam not mistaking.

I also see that Danish judge Berit Andreasen worked the fight.

Kolodziej won clearly, now he should be either #1 or #2 contender for the IBF belt

Just saw that he was ranked 4 yes. Didnt think he was even in the IBF rankings. Thought Masternak and Janik were (Janik have been dropped) Masternak may not have been.

Ross is third and fights Hernandez next. Kolodzej with a good chance of becoming the next mandatory indeed.
