Cotto-Margo 2, Rios-Murray, Mares-Agbeko 2, Helenius-Chisora, Povetkin-Boswell and Darchinyan-Moreno breakdowns will be done by Saturday. Mike Jones Vs. Sebastian Lujan: Top Welterweight Contenders Mike Jones and Sebastian Lujan will face off in an IBF World Title Eliminator, ( Winner will face Randall Bailey for the Vacant IBF World Welterweight title ). First off I will say Lujan is being overlooked way too quickly. He is coming off a huge KO win to fellow contender Mark Melligen, On ESPN FNF. He looked very impressive. Mike Jones is coming off a close two fight series with Jesus Soto Karass, A second tier Welterweight. Karass's odd style came near beating him in the first fight and made him struggle in the 2nd. So I think recently if anything Jones impressed more! I think Lujan should be a slight underdog, That's all. Mike Jones ( 25-0-0 ): Basics: Jones is a good boxer, He also has pretty good power that he showed verses Raul Munoz, Hector Munoz, and Irving Garcia but couldn't stop Karass, So it is questionable just how great it is. Anyways, Recently took a step up from Prospect to contender with 2 wins over Jesus Soto Karass that despite the fact he could have lost the first one and had some trouble in the second, Karass was his biggest challenge, He is a warrior, He almost won 1#. 2# was good for Jones he won clearly by UD, Other then that he has few big wins. Lujan would easily top his list. Power: Still Questionable. A couple good KOs, 7 out of 10. Ranking: Top 5-7 Welterweight. Resume: Jesus Soto Karass, Irving Garcia, Munozs. ect. Style: Orthodox boxer. ------------------------------------- Sebastian Lujan ( 38-5-2 ): Basics: Coming off a great KO win to Mark Melligen. He could upset Jones. By far Jones hardest test at least. He has pretty good power, Great KO wins to Walter Dario Matthysse, Mark Melligen, and a TKO 10 loss to a Green Antonio Margarito ( they later sparred together. ). He is a very talented fighter, Not some " unknown Argentina bum ", Casual fans and even some hardcore fans don't know this so make sure you remember he is not. Power: Some good KO wins. 7.5 out of 10. Resume: Mark Melligen and Walter Matthysse wins, Also a Green Antonio Margarito loss. Style; Orthodox Ranking: Top 10 Welterweight. ---------------------------------- I think this will tough for Mike Jones. Jones by Close Decision or even SD/MD ( 115-113, 115-113, 116-112 Style ) ------------------------------------- Pawel Wolak Vs. Delvin Rodriguez 2: Pawel Wolak, In my opinion a throwback fighter will face off against Delvin Rodriguez a second time ( 1st was a draw on ESPN FNF in July ). First fight was a war. Wolak fought around 4 rounds with an Eye that looked like it could have exploded, It was horribly swollen, Yet Wolak chose to fight. Real warrior, I cannot wait till the rematch! Pawel Wolak ( 29-1-1 ): Basics: Coming off that war he had with Rodriguez as I mentioned above, Wolak is a warrior, His eye was badly swollen for at least 4 rounds and he held up and kept pushing forward until the end, Getting a draw with Rodriguez. He showed heart in his fight with Pinzon too, Getting off the floor in Round 2 to Stop Pinzon in mid-fight. As off great wins? He bet Yuri Foreman by Stoppage. Thats about it, He isn't the greatest, Good LMW contender but now not much else, He wants to be more then that, Can he? Well first he must get past Delvin Rodriguez, Who's better then his record says. Power: 6 out of 10. Nothing great, Decent. No brutal stoppages of big names really. Resume: Good stoppage of Yuri Foreman, Draw with Delvin Rodriguez. TKO of Pinzon. Ranking: Top 12 LMW.\ Style: Throwback warrior. Orthodox. -------------------------------------- Delvin Rodriguez ( 25-5-3 ): Basics: Despite his record, He is a hell of a fighter. He has been on the bad side of close decisions verses Isaac Hlatshwayo and Ashley Theophane, He also has Draws with Isaac and Wolak, Close too. Shamone Alvarez, Oscar Diaz and Troy Browning are some good wins he has. I only saw him a few times but he gave Wolak more trouble then expected, Outworking him sometimes and almost beating him. So he once again will be a threat to Wolak Power: 5 out of 10.. Nothing major Resume: Wolak, Jackiewicz, Hlatshwayo, Theophane, Shamone Alvarez. Ranking: Top 13 ( Near Wolak ) Style: orthodox ---------------------------- Anyways I pick Wolak UD 12 ( 118-111, 116-112, 116-112 style ) I shouldn't doing these so late. Hopefully it is still decently wrote. :dead
Good breakdown man! Based on their last fight I would rate Rodriguez a bigger puncher than Wolak though. Doesn't really matter anyway since it's gonna be another bloody battle!!
