Would you pay for a main event if you knew it would be a 1 - 3 round beating/stoppage? The reason why I ask is that I hate when one boxer plays around and carries another boxer just to make it a longer fight. I think it is good sportsmanship to give your opponent the best of your abilities and finish them if they are clearly being outclassed. So would you care if a long awaited and hyped fight only lasted a couple of rounds?
When I shell out for a PPV, I want the full twelve rounds of pawing and clinches. Mike Tyson, how dare you, I want every penny's worth. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvAs1pos3TA[/ame]
True story. I went to a local card a few years back... "Do you know where the fighters locker room is?", a skinny guy asks me in the parking lot. "yeah Im in the main event" he says while smoking a cigarette and eating taco-bell. I called bull**** and asked why drink pepsi and smoke before a fight? He said hes been running and hitting the bag. atsch Anyways, he really was in the main-event... lasted 60 seconds of a first round TKO. Obviously he was there for a quick buck and to make the local hero look good. and NO he did not get paid... they held his purse. and NO we didnt get a refund for a crap night of boxing.
A boxer smoking cigs? Too funny. He's lucky it was only a one round fight, saved him the embarrassment of falling over from exhaustion.
