And here's me thinking it was only me with a long memory :rofl I swear the amount of times I've heard Calzaghe say 'only big fights from now on' and then he fights a Podwill or a McIntyre or a Bika in his next bull**** defence....I remember him calling out Jones and Hopkins after the McIntyre fight in 2001, who did he fight next? Charles Brewer Someone just posted a atsch at me because I respect Eubank and Benn more, well I suggest that person take a look at Benn and Eubanks respective records.
Respecting them more is one thing, having the boxing knowledge of a steaming pile of horse turd and picking them to beat Calzaghe by KO is another Joe, at the very least, is the best SMW of all time
At the very least??? :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl **** off with that ****, Jones would have KO'd him inside of 6 rounds. Want proof? Well lets wait and see how Calzaghe handles Clinton Woods, who Jones basically clowned and TKO'd without breaking sweat :yep
Yes, but you think Benn and Eubank would KO Calzaghe so your opinion is almost void at this point By the way, that wouldn't prove anything. I'm certain Joe will beat Woods, whether it's by points or stoppage. Anyway boxing doesn't work like that, however it doesn't suprise me to see you make such a claim, being a spastic and all RJJ and Calzaghe would be a great fight. Joe has achieved more at SMW
Did he die? Or is someone expecting a funeral a light heavy? I don't think I like the title of this thread. I think it is unfair to look this way at a fighter who has yet to fight a top 175 pounder. Just messing around.
He is not dead, I can confirm Spastics aside, we are simply celebrating the life of Joe Calzaghe. Whether in a boxing ring, or doing the most wonderful landscape paintings, and writing classic novels
Joe has only achieved more at SMW because he stayed there for 10 years taking easy money against bums, simple as that. Jones went to 175 then heavyweight. If you offered Joe a fight against a heavyweight belt-holder I suspect the stench of his **** would travel from the Welsh valleys right across to Norwich. You think prime Benn and Eubank couldn't put a dent in Calzaghe, and call me a 'spastic' for daring to suggest they could? Fair enough, stick with the insults, cos it's obvious boxing isn't your strong point.
Of course they could put a 'dent', whatever that means They would be very good fights. I wouldn't think you are a complete mong if you didn't pick them to win by KO... Especially Eubank, that is just ludicrous
Are you going to tell us all about how prime Eubank is going to KO Calzaghe? Please do. I won't even have to insult you, the proof will be in the pudding
Well he'd hit him on the chin of course, same as when he took out Watson and Benn :huh You seem to have this idea that Calzaghe has an iron chin, which he hasn't - he's been down before in his career and he's fought nowhere near the calibre of opposition that Benn and Eubank faced - in my opinion. If Calzaghe had been around in the late 80's I'd bet we wouldn't even be talking about him now. Carry on insulting all the same, shows your mentality.
There were no insults in my last post, you sound pretty desperate to change topic. Hardly suprising. By the way, this is an Internet forum and all, stop getting all touchy Calzaghe has shown he has a very good chin. Who cares if its 'iron' or not? He doesn't actually get hit that often, contrary to popular belief. Hardly a mark on him after fights. He only gets reckless when he does not respect the calibre of opponent (cue joke about fighting bums...) Besides, Eubank was hardly a one punch KO artist. He had decent power. Definitely not enough to take out Calzaghe
yea okay, Calzaghe is more talented than anyone Jones EVER fought . Jones aint ko'ing calzaghe who has an iron chin. :good
no, i'm not being sarcastic at all..i'm dead serious. Jones gets massively overrated when people say in his prime he would have massacred guys like dawson and calzaghe, who are more talented and gifted than ANYONE jones has fought.
