I aint one who thinks that, but it does work against other greats....I consider Hopkins one as well as Joe...But the topic here was Joe...if it was Bernard...I'd defend him as well :hi:
I don't think of the Eubank fight as a great win. I do think he was washed up. The Kessler and Lacy fights were great wins for him. I just wish Joe could get a win like that outside of the UK.
Hey, we're finding common ground here...I like Joe ...one of my favorites, but I wish he'd expand his resume to the USA...Look at Ali...he fought anywhere, when no other American fighters would...and the whole world knew him...I wish Joe would fight in the USA...HAtton has/is...why not Joe???
Yeah this will be Hatton's fourth big fight in the States. If he managed to beat Floyd anywhere it would be a massive win but it's would be even better to do it in Mayweather's country. That's something Calzaghe is missing. I'd like to see him fight a good opponent in his own backyard and come back victorious. That would really improve his legacy in my book. Hopkins may not fight outside of the USA but he beat Trinidad in New York and De La Hoya in Vegas. In both fights he was effectively the "away" fighter.
I agree. Here's why:- 10 years as champion. 20+ defences. Has been Ring, WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO champion. Granite chin, boxing skills, stamina. He has fought two dangerous undefeated opponents who claimed to be best and beat them in unification fights. Look at his face, hardly a mark! No-one wants to fight him, because they have very little chance of winning. The one who gave him his toughest test in my opinion was Sakio Bika and I predict he will go on to bigger things after Calzaghe.
Saiko Bika after the fight with Joe ,mentioned he had to fight like he did, (Dirty) cus he was Tuff and skillfull and had to get him out off his game plan and calzaghe, fought with most heart that fight, saiko was throwing bombs and joe didnt even get shook from then i knew that beard was solid
OH i forgot JOE CALZAGHE was shook bad b4, mitchell i think exploded fistic dynamite bomb scud missile wid demonic intention, I was laffing then and said this arrogant twat going to get stopped, then yet again he proved me wrong i had mitchell winning this fight b4 the fight started, then joe just went psycho and from theny ou know what happened now im a converted fan joe's fire is like roaring brimstone from the bowels off hell,
To those who knock Calzaghe for fighting a lot of mediocre fighters: Which ATG hasn't????? Look at many of Ali's opponents and the utterly boring fights he sometimes delivered in the 70's. Look at Joe Louis and the bum of the month club. Look at Holyfield ad his struggles with Bobby Chyz or Ruiz. Calzaghe fought the best he could get and was never close to losing. Undefeated in amateurs and pros for 17 years. Not a single shady decision, only clear wins. Which ATG has such a resume of dominance?????
