I have spoken to several esteemed sources, and this is completely unfounded

Joe wants Hopkins, unfortunately the old man has recently purchased this little beauty:

He is running even faster than 5 years ago

Might have to settle on Woods

He's too busy watching his poodle watching him watch himself in the mirror.

I've asked for pics of this phenomenon dozens of times (and even offered to come over and clean his pool and rake his leaves) and all I ever get is bulletins about his HBO appearances.

He has about as great of a legacy as you can have facing the minimal opposition he has. If he wants to have any type of legacy he needs to move up to 175 and beat any two of Hopkins, Jones Jr, Tarver, Dawson, or Erdei. Woods does nothing for his resume. Showing that he can defeat adversity away from Wales against the mentioned fighters would do wonder's for Calzaghe's legacy though.

If Hopkins is so old, why should Joe be chasing him? Seems like "traditional" Joe to me for him to be chasing after a Grandpa... Is this not evidence/proof that Joe is looking for the least risk with biggest reward?

And if Hopkins really does need one of those "little beauty's", then you also can't really say that he is ducking Joe, either. I mean, if Wlad called out Muhammed Ali, who didn't respond (or even better, as with Hopkins, said not for another 6 months!) - would Ali be ducking Wlad?

Some people are just obtuse as ****

What about 5 years ago, when Grandpa Popkins requested double the money knowing full well Warren wouldn't pay up?

Don't start giving me **** about age again, Hopkins was not a shot fighter back then. He made up for his lower punch output with ring craft (cheating)

Some people just see what they want to see. The man has been ducking for years. No shame in ducking a great like Joe Calzaghe mind

Keep in mind Calzaghe has fought 2 contendor champions (in fact, one was a runner up!!) in 2 of his last 3 fights... With Warren in his corner, I'd NEVER accuse a potential Calzaghe opponent of ducking him... Not less one who supposably now requires a wheelchair

Kessler's future will go a long way in determining Calzaghe's greatness

Also, the Eubank win is underrated.

:huh Out of 44 fights, the ONLY names that really mean anything are Kessler, Lacy (who as you said, how they go in their future will really judge Calzaghe's greatness. If they fizzle away, so does the level of Calzaghe's win) and EUBANK.

Only die hard fans mention names like BYRON MITCHELL and OMAR SHIEKA... B level at best, probably C level at the time they were in the ring with him.

    Oh give over man

The fight was AGREED, Hopkins decides "Oh wait a minute, this guys going to beat the **** out of me, best get some real compensation for it"

Why would he suddenly do that, if he wasn't scared of losing? It's not as if it was a **** offer, it was enough for him to agree initally until he realised he'd be getting a big fat L in his record. Hopkins knows his boxing

Frank Warren is a ****, but Bernard Hopkins is the reason this fight hasn't happened
