Demirezen is no joke, 1-1 against Joyce in the amateurs (the loss was also a really competitive fight) and a stoppage win over Yoka in World series of Boxing.
Never stopped in the pro or the amateur ranks.
His weight has been a bit of a problem in the pro ranks, but he should beat Washington.
You can see that he has some skills from his amateur figh with Joyce:

Not sure I'd pay for it but sometimes these are my favorite type of cards. You go in with no expectations and there's usually some good entertainment.

    Couple things.

    * It's on New Year's Day. Every network and sports channel is showing college football or basketball games in the U.S. So there probably aren't many slots for this.

    * They are five relatively competitive heavyweight fights. They may not all go the distance, but no national television network (like Fox) is going to dedicate four or five hours to one boxing card.

    * Showtime boxing ratings are dreadful, averaging like 200,000 to 300,000 viewers. A half-price PPV makes more sense.

Lastly, the comment "not one world title in sight" is something WE, as fans, need to be careful about.

The reason there are SO MANY sanctioning bodies and SO MANY titles goes back to those kinds of comments.

Years ago, TV networks started thinking they couldn't show a boxing card unless a "title fight" was attached to it. And, over the years, sanctioning bodies accommodated them.

Fans HATE that there are SO MANY titles ... but at the same time they expect to see a title fight nearly every week. Or more than one every week on EVERY card. Regardless of how stupid the belt is.

Every card doesn't need a "one or more" title fights.

Despite all the insults, Luis Ortiz is rated in the top 10 by EVERY sanctioning body and Ring Magazine at heavyweight. Ortiz is a top 10 heavyweight contender. Charles Martin is rated #2 by the IBF. No one is rated above him in the IBF ratings.

A top-10 heavyweight matchup is a fine headliner. You don't need a random WBO "super nothingweight" TITLE fight on every show. Or five British, Commonwealth or SUPER WBA INTERCONTINENTAL INTERIM "TITLE" fights.

I like that there is no one claiming to be a world champion on this card. None of them are.

They are just 10 heavyweights looking to slug it out.

The main event winner will likely get a title shot in the new year with the Usyk-Joshua winner.

It's a good card. None of the fights will be cut for time. People who want to watch it can. Frankly, there should be more shows like this.

Just load them up with a bunch of decent bouts.
Don't insult us by trying to hype someone as a "champ."

Everybody starts the year with a fight. Maybe some of these guys can fight four or "god forbid" five times this year. Sanchez just fought in October. A fight every two or three months for him in 2022 would be awesome.

Get people used to seeing some of these guys fight. That's how you build momentum for a fighter. Not boxing once a year.

Main event could be a decent ppv supporting fight, Sanchez takes a step down in competition to fight Braezale's less talented brother, Gerald Washington trying his best not to gas and get clipped. Interested to see Faust in with his first semi-live body though. Definitely going to pass on this one, which is a shame as it doesn't take much for me to watch heavyweights

For me it’s poor to put it on PPV and a cop out. There’s no reason showtime can’t put up $1m which would be more than they will get off the PPV.

For me its a cop out and poor for the fans its on PPV and having to be fleeced for more money. There is no way Fox cant just stump up the $750k that this generates on PPV.

    * the date could have been moved back a week or two and gone unopposed. The Ortiz vs Martin rematch could have been co-main to Davis vs Cruz and actually give some value for money. As the Davis fight isnt worth $75 either

*They will not be the only fights on the card you can prop the broadcast up with 3 other 50/50 fights in lower weight classes. timing it is not an issue.

*Showtimes numbers are besides the point. Its a Fox PPV and the fight will still make more sense on regular FOX than it will bringing in 20-50k PPV buys

I am not saying all PPV should be world titles but all of these guys are not at the level currently to ever be a top world champion contender besides Vykhryst. If this card had a Charlo vs Castano rematch as the headline for instance I then think its potential value for money. I am not saying PPV should only be PPV. I believe that a Crawford vs Spence or Canelo fight for instance with a solid undercard is a PPV. Not Davis vs Cruz for a nothing belt.
