Great weekend of boxing...some of the most entertaining fights i've seen in a long time...a lotta drama and some unexpected results. here's my take. tony direll- truax: Anthony Dirrell looked like a man on a mission wiping the floor with truax. just when it looked like truax was gonna present a challenge too...what a way to start the weekend! dre direll-caparello: Andre Dirrell tried like hell but caparello wouldn't cooperate...caparello holding incessantly, retreating into a defensive shell for extended periods, and this was AFTER he dropped dirrell...like wtf? clearly caparello knew the danger and wasn't about to take any chances and likely get blasted outta there. degale- medina: don't know wtf happened to james degale, but that was a substandard performance...his second in a row, even though i thought he dominated bute. degale looked impressive beating andre dirrell..he's got tremendous ability. he should have ko'd bute and ko'd medina with ease. he had a slow, plodding, wide swinging Mexican in front of him and he let the guy in the fight instead of stepping inside and blowing him out. for a minute, I was thinking degale-jack would be no contest for degale...now, I think jack has a better than average shot. jack-bute: badou jack beat the beejeezus outta Lucien bute...punished bute to the body and cracked him repeatedly with hooks to the head. bute had a nice late rally, but ran out of steam by the last round. I had it 10-2 for jack, giving bute only rounds 10 and 11. how the fcuk did they call that draw? this is one of the many things that's wrong with boxing...corrupt, incompetent judges. berto-ortiz. it was nice to see berto get his revenge. well deserved, andre...Ortiz looked sharp for a couple of rounds, but after some early jitters berto showed improvement. I think berto can get back to the top of the ww picture. I'd pick him over Garcia and porter. I give him a good shot against brook and Thurman...spence might be a little problematic for him. rodriguez-wiliams: fight of the year so far? rodriguez needs to watch himself...keep doing this and it's gonna start catching up with him....not every fight has to be a knockdown drag-out brawl. guzman-rosas: guzman impressed me. reminded me of tommy hearns a little. tremendous power. hopefully he can get the Frampton fight next. I think he beats most at jfw.
Excuses excuses Dirrell landed flush on Caparello plenty, including numerous rabbit punches he couldn't KO him, because he doesn't have even a modicum of the power Kovalev has. Truax is a bum who lasted as long as he did against Jacobs, because Jacobs power is overrated, the fact still remains Dirrell couldn't KO Rubio and GGG did in 2. If Jack beat the bejesus out of Bute, then why was Jack in full retreat mode and getting rocked left and right in the last 3 rounds. The draw was well deserved. Rodriguez-Williams Jr wasn't close to the FOTY, it was a sloppy mess with a premature stoppage. Why was it nice to see Berto get his revenge? He lost fair and square the first time, and failed a PED test before the second, he didn't even deserve the rematch. Guzman is the real deal, but he isn't getting Frampton any time soon due to the fact that Frampton is moving up to Featherweight, or did you miss that whole thing about him being signed to face Leo Santa Cruz?
I see you watched ALL the fights, huh? Did at least have the decency to send mr. al a thank you note after all the schit you been talking about him?
Card in DC was Showtime, not PBC. PBC card in NJ was garbage Berto-Ortiz and Rodriguez-Williams Jr were entertaining though.
Yeah I did and I also watched the Boesel-Liebau fight and the Conlan-Nelson and Fury-Kassi, should I thank their managers and promoters as well? Conlan vs Nelson was an actual FOTY candidate, but you've probably never heard of either of them have you?
- I guess that means truax is ggg's next opponent, huh? - the way you know the draw as a bullschit was when even bute rolled his eyes at the decision. - ortiz comes in the ring lookin like a lhw... and you mad at berto? - caparello dropped kkkovalev and went after him, giving kkkovalev the opportunity to ko him. against andre, caparello realized after the first punches fired, he had no chance....even after the kd, he was just tryna to survive.
You do realize when you try to pretend like Caparello actually knocked down Kovalev as opposed to the reality, that he stepped on his foot when he was moving backwards, that it only serves to make you look a massive idiot, or the reality a massive biased as hell racist right? Caparello was trying to survive? If Dirrell has so many skills and is SOOOOOO good then why didn't he find a way to stop him anyway, Kovalev had absolutely no problem finding the target ad taking him out in 2. Why would GGG do that? His KO2 leftover just went 10 WHOLE rounds against the mighty KO artist Anthony Dirrell. Truax, Quillin and Jacobs all of Al Haymon's guys are glass jawed losers that should be thanking their lucky stars that Haymon Protection Services do everything in their might to keep them as far away from GGG as it can.
A kd is a kd...that's how it's scored and recorded for all history. besides, fighters can get their feet tangled AND still get kd'd. happens all the time...also, you really don't want to know what you look like on pretty much every post you make on this forum. why do the Dirrell bros HAVE to be KO artists? ali was no ko artist...srl, srr, fmj not ko artists. but they could ko the best in the world on any given night. can ggg ko the best in the world? can kkkovalev? ...I guess the real question is, will we ever know?
Bute rolled his eyes because the way it was annonced. When it is a UD, they go with all the cards in a row... "all for the winner and [new, still]". The told one card for Jack, and then said bout the other two "both scored the fight", Bute probably thought it was because they had different outcome, which obviously was the case, and in this case that he might have won. 10-2 Jack is bs. Bute didn't look good but I had 3 safe rounds for Bute and an other it was pretty obvious that Bute had it.
bute didn't have schit...he got beat pretty bad. he won two rounds at most. Even the one judge who gave him three rounds was being generous. nobody believes bute came close to deserving a draw...it was two judges nobody ever heard of who don't know wtf they're doing.
