...priceless, BK stammering & backpedaling to justify the group-think when Villegas gives his score dissonant with BK's, Goossen's and Lewis' consensus that Alexander has been dominating. Now all of a sudden every round has been go-either-way, and he ackonwledges that Villegas' focus on just scoring instead of chit-chatting might give him a different view of things.

Lennox just call the right-handed stance (antonym of southpaw) "otter-box"? :dunno

    Round 1 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 2 Alexander 10-9
    Round 3 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 4 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 5 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 6 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 7 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 8 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 9 Santamaria 10-9

And... Santamaria stuns him with the left hook. Not sure why he hasn't been going all out with that punch since his earlier success with it.

    Round 1 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 2 Alexander 10-9
    Round 3 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 4 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 5 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 6 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 7 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 8 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 9 Santamaria 10-9
    Round 10 Santamaria 10-9

Nothing interesting about it at all Brian, it was a pretty easy to score straight ahead counter puncher vs. ineffective aggressor type match.

    99-91 Santamaria

98-92, maybe 97-93 is fine as well.

'Judging isn't easy' it actually is. 'Super-close' rounds are very rare, and would be even rarer if judges were allowed to assign 10-10 rounds when they were warranted.

    UD for Santamaria

Thank God the judges were actually watching the match for a change.

Yeah, I think the moratorium on 10-10 rounds is a bit silly and can lead to more errors in terms of final outcome as a result of just picking a winner arbitrarily in a close round. In this fight, virtually every round Alexander might have a case for could just as easily be called 10-10. Not that he has case for all that many, imo...Certainly no more than four at an absolute stretch.

Hey leave him alone, he's the one guy trying to dissent from the commentary consensus about Devon's "dominance"

Great commentary from Goosen and Kenny as always. Which largely consisted of them repeatedly saying....

"But, but, but... Devon Alexander used to be decent!!!!"
