There is virtually no ROI on PBC. They are paying the fighters too much in order to try to monopolize boxing... They are trying to get everyone in there stable.
I think reasonable minds always knew it was only a matter of time. It was never a matter of if, but a matter of when. People learn the basics in business school. You can't run a company with no profit without continuous funding. PBC overpaid their fighters and now all their fighters are going to pay for their short term gain. Everything comes full circle.
You gents should read the information provided in the complaint. A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
PBC is not getting sued, but they're also not going to get any more additional funding in the future. It's going to affect them no matter what.
Haven't looked into it, but it sounds like the "Investors" are suing PBC... This is not rival companies suing this time, disgruntled fighters.. these are the people that trusted Al Haymon and Waddel and Reed with their moneys.
But according to Dontae and other youtube channels, the white man doesn't like PBC because they don't want to see a black man get ahead lol. Never once did they consider that people criticized PBC because the entire model didn't make sense. Paying these fighters triple the market value and then claim "hey doe fighters need to get paid doe" yea of course they need to get paid, but if the live gate plus TV license fee is 1 million, how are both fighters going to get paid 2 million total? Its easy to do with other peoples money, especially when Haymon is getting 10 percent of each purse. This will indeed get very messy
I thought they overpaid the fighters as well, it's simply not healthy for boxing, fighters are getting greedy as a result of it and we're seeing less and less good fights, sure they put their lives on the line and they're looking out for themselves, I understand that but as a boxing fan, I want to see the sport thrive. Also, this is not sustainble in the long run either, so boxing as a whole could suffer because at some point, the bubble would have to burst with these overinflated fighters' purses.
I graduated from a top business and law school. I've dabbled a little in boxing but have been a fan my whole life. Anyone with any semblance of business sense or common sense knew something didn't pass the sniff test. Aside from the numbers that didn't work, Haymon and company didn't really give themselves a chance to be successful with too many mismatches and too many fighters who don't engage. Some people try and make it racial, but the Floyd model doesn't apply or will work with anyone else. Casuals flat out have zero interest in watching two guys pose for 12 rounds. Hell, I'm a hardcore fan and most of the pbc fighters I have zero interest in watching because I know exactly what is going to happen. Haymon"s mindset should have been action and engagement. And another note, the Floyd pac fight was a total disaster and will take a long time to recover from.
