Speaking of such, anyone following the fights tonight or doing a rbr? Jackson just decisioned Laurente
There are fights on tonight? :huh My life is so hectic nowadays I get to peek at Boxrec to preview upcoming action maybe twice a month. :!:
It's starting to turn into the next WWF The fights I've watched left a bad taste in my mouth especially since Al Haymon is involved and many bizarre events have happened

Hmmm... Didn't someone else make a thread just like this one? Oh yeah thats right.. It was me. :deal http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=542753 Perhaps the anti-PBC movement is gaining momentum. It's only a matter of time now...
I've watched nearly all of the fights and I can't say the PBC has impressed me. Fights have had good moments (Thurman/Guerrero and Arreola/Harper), and there was a nice upset involving Willie Nelson, but overall the product is not up to par. It would be one thing if the PBC were just bad and only hurting itself. But they have made fans accustomed to expecting everything for free. Smaller promoters are affected because they can't sell tickets, since the PBC essentially papers all the crowds. Besides the obvious, that no league is premiere without Crawford, GGG, Kovalev, Klitschko, and so many others, I don't see any breakout stars on the horizon. Thurman doesn't seem to be improving at the rate I expected. Errol Spence, Jr. has a chance to be something special, but besides that there's not a fighter I would want to invest my time and money in. Finally, the lack of credibility from their journalists is poor. They give access to some guys who print their press releases or modify them (see: Rafael, Iole, Michael Woods) and even hired former journalists like Tim Smith to work for them. I about threw up when they interview Quillin and Jacobs, and nobody at ESPN can ask more than the pre-arranged questions. Someone, whether it be Grisham or Osuna, needs to ask. Jacobs/Quillin: "The Middleweight division is very talented at the top. Would you be interested in fighting the winner of GGG/Lemieux or Cotto/Canelo?" Or: Mr. Jacobs, you claim to be an "A" side since you have a belt, but Gennady Golvokin holds the recognized version of the WBA championship. Would you like a chance to unify that belt. And finally, it's hard to root against a cancer survivor, but I'm coming close to with Jacobs. Mora gets a legitimate injury and celebrates like he just accomplished something great. Basically, what they both should have said was Al told us we'll fight soon and pretend like they're calling each other out when the deal is done. As long as Quillin gets by Tom Bob Anderson in September, that will be the fight and the PBC pom-pom wavers who hate GGG/Lemieux will turn this into Trinidad/Hopkins.
