Overnights from Japan state that Yamanaka, on average, got 10% (12.8 million) and peaked at 13.5% (more than 17 million) That's in a country with a much smaller population than the US O_O
This is consistent with numbers in many decent sized countries with free to air boxing shows scattered all over the globe. The US still has a long, long way to go when it comes to pulling boxing out of obscurity. By the way, Yamanaka also dwarfed his opponent yesterday, not just PBC's numbers...
:huh thats an average card in Japan tho. They pull in big ratings all the time. PBC is doing well considering that they dont have any stars fighting on it.
PBC is losing boatloads of dough and I would not be an investor in this **** shoot.By the time they actually show a profit a couple of hundred millions will be lost without a trace.:deal
Reminiscent of when notorious non-draw Rigondeaux's fight in Japan murdered the numbers of "superstars" in his division like Donaire, Frampton, etc.
That's not the point... The point is that free to air boxing is a long way from being on the way back in the US, while in Europe, Asia and such numbers are completely incomparable with the low US numbers. For boxing to be even remotely as popular with mainstream viewers as it was in the pre PPV/premium cable era, numbers have to be about 10 fold what it is now over there.
Oh you're talking about when Broner was at 130. Psh, Broner still wins. :deal He'll be far heavier. 130-118 Broner was a very good fighter at that weight class with underrated power, he only just lost it completely at 140-147. Yamanaka really isn't that good, being honest, watched a couple of his fights. I see him being beaten handily at 122 if he makes a move there.
All you some of you do on here is complain like women. All you want is for Al haymon and mayweather to fail. The fact that it is not going to happen, now some of you want to kill yourself. Have fun!
like you ever watched a fight. And Broner is limited. He has arguably 3 losses on his record, 2 at 130 pounds. Yamanaka is taller and more skilled.
