    Huh. That explains it then. He was fairly well touted before the layoff. His only defeat was to Cesar Rene Cuenca.

    Interestingly both were coming off sizable layoffs. De Jesús had made his initial return eleven months ago but Elegele hadn't fought in even longer, since 2014.

    So that's a pretty creditable victory for Joe. Arguably his best (previous was former prospect "Fightin' Fireman" Lanard Lane, who was talented and made for a good story but was never destined to go too far with boxing as a side hobby while working full-time)
