How is Al making money on these? He has to pay the fighters, buy the air time. Most of the commercial time is used to promote other haymon fighters. Can't be making that much from the small amount of ads they play.

He is banking on his format growing substantially by years end. Actually mid summer ratings jumps will be crucial to sustain this business model.

He used the Mayweather-Pac fight as leverage.

He is making money it is the networks that are losing.

They are counting on making it up on the Pac-May bout.

The 95.00 PPV is subsidizing alot of this

Might be a long time investment.
My friend did club shows some years ago and he lost money on the first 4 or 5 shows until he made a 10 euro profit from a show. In the long run it was worth it.

yeah that's not a very good number.. but honestly I don't think anyone cares about Stevenson. He is a one handed fighter who will likely get KO'd when he steps up in competition. Nothing special

    you people are re****ed lol....

the NBA in 2014 averaged a 2.4 rating.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Basketball_Association_Nielsen_ratings

    MLB averages under 1.0 rating
    http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2014-09-21/mlb-fox-tv-ratings-2014-record-low-rating

So far it seems like PBC is averaging anywehre from a 1.2-1.4. If they can maintain this they are in a wonderful situation to sell advertising to young & athletic demographic. They just need a few shows to pave the way and prove to advertisers they aren't a flash in the pan. If Adonis Stevenson can score a 1.37 they will be able to sell ads

Boxing has a low production cost so it's not a terrible number but it's also not strong. Bit of a disappointment but not a disaster.

The real test will be how the next card does. At least on paper, Garcia vs Peterson and Quillin vs Lee delivers two interesting matchups with solid name value.

not it won't lol... PBC already averages over a million in 3 broadcasts. You don't compare it to things that aren't in a sports category.

You sell advertisements against demographic. 1.0-1.4 is very solid for any sports telecast. Only thing that blows it out of the water is probably NFL. MLB, NBA, NHL and I would guess Soccer are comparable to 1.0-1.4
