Hurd had been yapping that he should have been in the P4P top5 before this bout, and a surprisingly large number of boxfans supported that kinda out there claim. Guess this result rapidly ends that debate.

 

Wow, some of the post here are really ****ed up , these guys had fight of the year and both were classy in victory and defeat but all I see is hater talk, give both credit and wish both well.

 

The interview made me a fan I’ll always pull for him.

 

There's nothing here said about Hurd which isn't true. He's a severely limited guy who succeeded at a top level for a short period of time in large part large physical stature and durability. It wasn't a good look seeing someone like that at the top of the division and a lot of us are glad it's over. It was a good fight but a very one-sided one despite the occasional moment and gameness from Hurd. The better technician and fighter won. Williams outboxed and out fought him.

 

Fun moment when Hurd went down after Williams landed two hard clean shots:

Lennox: "It was a flash knockdown."

 

You can look at my past post I even said Hurd would never have a long career but even as limited as he was he won belts and he did it with no hype and always gave the fans there money’s worth add to that he was never a diva or knucklehead dude was a good Champion, a lot of people for some reason think every body that gets a belt is going to be a ATG or there nothing. Being a good champ and a good person should count for more in my book, and J-Rock has a new fan in me he’s what this sport is about.

Agree to disagree but I never enjoyed watching him being comprehensively outboxed in almost every fight only to be bailed out by massive size/toughness.

The PBC commentators are absolutely horrible. They almost refused to believe and acknowledge that Williams was beating Hurd up.
