If you were reading it, you knew that nobody outside Microsoft Theater was viewing any of the action beyond Santa Cruz vs. Rivera, so ...what's the point of this comment, exactly? @CST80 you online? Let's sync up and score this mother****er. The fight starts pretty soon into the video, it picks up in media res at the very end of the anthems, then by like the 45 second mark the first bell rings. Just post "hitting play" and I'll follow suit.

 

César Juárez vs. Ryōsuke Iwasa, 12 rounds @ super bantamweight

Oh man, not a minute into the match, some drunken ass Cholo at ringside bellows "konnichi wa, bitches!"

 

Round 1

Juárez is ripping body shots diving in underneath Iwasa's southpaw jab. Juárez is barreling into him full-force, slashing down with powerful high-arcing punches. Iwasa keeps scooting back and jabbing over the head, sometimes dragging his right arm in on the low-tide recoil and gathering Juárez into an unwitting headlock. Jack Reiss having to separate them frequently. Juárez getting pushed down and hit behind the head, but honestly a lot of that is his own fault with the way he's diving in. HUGE left cross by Iwasa shortly before the bell, cleanest and most well-timed punch of the round.

Round 2

Juárez is gluing his inner forearms to his face and dipping his upper half forward, swerving around the Iwasa 1-2 somewhat effectively, but Iwasa keeps stepping around him and scoring with right jabs on the side of the head. Iwasa's feet and hands much quicker. Juárez catching some of Iwasa's jabs between his gloves but far more are penetrating, along with some left crosses dinging above his eyes. Juárez putting up hybrid jab/hooks as he falls in, but getting parried off Iwasa's upheld right glove. Nice check right hook off the jab by Iwasa clipping Juárez on the chin as he comes barging at him guns blazing. Huge flurry by Juárez, but sloppy, unsuccessfully attempting to corral Iwasa on the ropes.

Early in R3, our friend Konnichiwa Guy from earlier (at least I'm pretty sure, they have the same pitch & register of voice) says "they slugging, DAWG, they slugging!" ...and then a moment later when Iwasa lands a vicious drawn-back (like a notched arrow) left hand lead he on the spot quips "Ha-DOOOOOOO-ken!"
