Jiménez is walking Figueroa down and hooking the body hard. Figueroa is waving his left wrist concentrically out several inches from his body, showing a jab-feint and blustering that he's ready to parry anything Jiménez throws up top. Rabbit punch by Jiménez coming in, warned. Jiménez is ducking very low, darts in under a lazy jab by Figueroa and hacks up high with a left hook, missing as Figueroa stumbles away in a twitchy nervous stagger-step. Jiménez is pressuring and holding the left out to one side, poised to hook. Nasty headbutt, leaving both shaking it off until the bell.

(Figueroa is the Mexican, btw, if you couldn't tell by Jiménez rocking the Cuban flag colors on his trunks - and is from the same hometown as El Terrible Morales per the commentators just now. Jiménez idolizes Guillermo Rigondeaux and trains with Jorge Linares)

 

Round 2

Jiménez is now rowing out a left jab sideways from a sheathed position laying the arm flat across his belly. Jiménez coming forward but Figueroa keeping him off with the long jab, staying tall, bowling in a few long underhanded rights on the body. Jiménez is unable to get close, wary of Figueroa's jabs and body shots, never really committing with his own jab, pumping it out into the air but then receding into a low crouch on the outside.

Easy to score thus far, each round clear for either, interesting to see if the momentum continues to seesaw for the next four.

Round 3

Jiménez is caught by a long 1-2 and chopping left over the top by Figueroa, now settled firmly and comfortably into southpaw. Figueroa is just launching himself in, serpentine, and climbing over the shorter Jiménez's attempts to fend him off with a two-armed shove or hooking combo, literally just pushing his foe's arms down and shooting above them. Jiménez can't answer the length or aggression of Figueroa and shrinks into a shell. Jiménez on the defensive as Figueroa just picks him off at long range, lobbing the left casually and needling with right jabs.
