Santiago is jabbing at Ruiz's gloves to push them down and back, thrusting with a declining bent, then firing a 1-2 into the opening he creates. Ruiz is countering with the line drive right as Santiago comes in with a left hook and chopping right combo, then misses his own 1-2. Santiago cleverly using his jab to nudge aside Ruiz's guard and control the positioning of his gloves, then working in the 1-2.

Round 2

Santiago is using excellent head movement to roll under Ruiz's jab while threading in his own, and swiping with some left hooks off the jab. Both men are hurling sandbag punches after leaning in the opposite direction to cock their arms to load up at close range. Combos from Ruiz, getting countered but managing to land despite Santiago's consistently good head movement.

Round 3

Santiago is hooking with Ruiz while backpedaling and steadying himself with a sweeping right from off the rear hip. Santiago distances himself and works some nice jabs, sauntering around Ruiz. Steady pressure by Ruiz, clapping in the high left hook on the jawline and rushing in with a right uppercut, trapped between Santiago's chest and forearms. Check hook by Santiago.
