PBC on FS1: Ivan Redkach vs. Argenis Méndez RBR

Always great to see a rank-n-file salt-of-the-earth type with a 7-5-1 record get the break and make the most of it like that.

 

Round 1

Saavedra is getting pushed across the ring. Figueroa is slapping the body, twisting his left hip for extra torque. Figueroa applying heavy pressure and roping out some crisp left hand leads, occasionally lulling Saavedra with a shorter, noodled looping shot, brushing his cheek lightly before retracting and bowling another hard straight one down the lane. Saavedra himself countering with small bursts of body shots, but without much on them as he is kept on the backfoot.

Round 2

Saavedra is throwing idiosyncratic udder-tugging combos, flipping his gloves palm-to-sky into Figueroa's chest as though milking his teat. Saavedra then switches it up and punctuates with a hard left hook on the hip. Figueroa ignores the body attack from Saavedra, never bothering to lower his elbows to block or to roll his abdomen to slip them, concentrating instead on throwing woodpecker left hook sequences on Saavedra's temple and then drilling rights into the body, throat and head.

Round 3

Saavedra is getting creamed downstairs, Figueroa loading up on everything. Figueroa is nearly doubling him over with his swivel-action hooks with either hand, bruising up the skinny midpoint of Saavedra's hourglass silhouette. Figueroa tosses a few cheeky overhand lefts at Saavedra's hairline to keep his gloves bobbing upward instinctively to defend, then resumes banging out a percussive beat on his anteroposterior lumbar. Not much in return from Saavedra now, just skipping around the ring and tightening his stance, absorbing, withstanding, surviving.

Panterita being a harsh critic while providing guest commentary on his brother's match, haha...

Omar shrugged when the play by play caller asked if he was glad that Brandon was pitching a shutout and looking dominant. "Ehh...probably should've gotten rid of this guy already..."

 

Round 4

Saavedra is putting out a lumpy jab in retreat, and Figueroa is ducking it to land hard lefts on the sternum. Figueroa is sticking his neck out and weaving it around the backfoot wallpapering slaps of Saavedra. Everything from Saavedra missing or bouncing off Figueroa's neck and shoulders inconsequentially. Figueroa casually herding Saavedra around the ring and getting off in twos and threes, alternately upstairs & down.

Brandon really should quit dicking around. He could end this with a more disciplined approach.
