Joel Diaz is a pretty good trainer.. and he's right.

..but then again Bracero isn't an easy guy to hit clean.

BTW, this ref pretty much sucks.. there's no rule against showboating.

Flores is right - there is a difference between a competitive fight (which this has been) and one that is close on the cards (which this isn't/shouldn't be)

    Round 7

Díaz is rowing out the right jab, launching a high left hand, balling his fist on the way up. Díaz is keeping his body very loose on the outside and tensing up as he charges, fighting in bursts. Bracero is steadier, more consistent, but not doing much to deter Díaz. Bracero moving away, turning corners, staying off the ropes, firing jabs and straight combos lightly at the body.

    10-9 Díaz

    69-64 Díaz

    Round 8

Díaz is hopping in place to psyche himself up, hoisting his shoulders up high and tossing hard left hand leads at the head. Bracero is dancing away, jabbing and holding out his outstretched arms to push at Díaz. Crunching left on the upper lip by Díaz pushing through past Bracero's clinching attempt. Bracero is down, under the bottom rope. Mercante gives him a count and the bell sounds shortly thereafter.

    10-8 Díaz

    79-72 Díaz

NOW THAT was a KD. damn good shot!

Fun fight, but seems like nobody but me an IB are watching.

Replay on that was great, nice short left hook on the button. Love it.

    Round 9

Díaz is starting out aggressive, throwing more jabs than customary. Bracero is backing straight up, getting hit with both of Díaz's fists. Bracero starts to lower the drawbridge with his left arm, knocking down Díaz's climbing right jab. Díaz is tossing the right jab up and lowering his head to his knees. Bracero jabs his way in, baited into a trap. BIG left hand and Bracero is on his butt again. Saved by the bell. Hurt by that one.

    10-8 Díaz

    89-80 Díaz

Joel Diaz vs. Tommy Gallagher - refreshing to see a televised coaching battle of two lesser-known but solid guys who KSAB and have been around the block.

Not just the same old Virgil Hunter/Freddie Roach/Roberto Garcia (and to a lesser extent Nazim Richardson, Ronnie Shields) circle jerk of overexposure.

    Round 10

Díaz is on his toes, bending his knees, fists dangling by his ankles, leaving himself in range for Bracero and then jerking away, never lifting either glove, just swaying to safety. Díaz very confident. Díaz is bouncing around, shifting his weight between his feet, tossing right jabs at the chest. Bracero tries a hook up top and curls his arm around Díaz's neck, putting him in a headlock. Another awkward clinch. Díaz is starting to pound in with some hard lefts on the chest. Bracero is hit with a hard one at the bell, spun around, but doesn't go down.

    10-9 Díaz

    99-89 Díaz

Bracero can at least still claim he's never been stopped.
