Alvarez is covering up as Prieto whips hooks up at him from a crouch. Wild uppercuts and downward swipes by Prieto up close. They all deflect off Alvarez's chest and outer arms. Alvarez waits for the breaks, jabs & moves, and then willingly succumbs to Prieto's worming his way inside, where he can be contained with Alvarez clinching and simply hovering above Prieto while he's crouching, giving him no space to straighten up.

Alvarez is like a 5.5 in all the categories in which Mayweather is a straight 10.

 

I'd love to see them square off. I mean, it wouldn't be pretty or anything, but...

 

Round 12

Alvarez is raising his left arm to catch Prieto's overhand rights. Counter jabs by Alvarez while turning Prieto. Alvarez leading with uppercuts on the diaphragm and driving through with them, pinning down the arms of Prieto while up close. Alvarez doing lots of leaning down with his forearm against the back of Prieto's neck on the inside, bullying and using his length & strength. Prieto is throwing combinations in earnest - but equally in vain - at the guard of Alvarez.

So not quite the show-stealer that Huck vs. Glowacki was last night, but still a strong opener. (and, it may turn out, yet another instance of PBC in hindsight getting their "main event" designation wrong)
