Davis doesn't impress me. Sure he has power and packs a good punch but he lacks fundamentals and doesn't display ring IQ. Doesn't utilize the jab much, subpar footwork and defense will be exploited by bigger players in higher divisions. Should do well i suppose as long as he stays in the lightweiht division.

 

Outside of an occasional shoulder roll, he fights nothin like Floyd.

 

He shows signs of ring IQ but lacks consistency . He switches on and off.

 

On the other hand, he does have pretty good defence and will work the body as required. There's enough talent there that he shouldn't be dismissed outright.

A more consistent jab will help his cause to no end, though.

 

he's built like hearns for his weight class but i didn't see any kind of hearns power. if anything crawford is mini hearns.

Yes but he needs to desperately learn how to utilize a jab or he will be taken apart when he moves up. I've seen guys like Davis exposed because of it.
